i was wondering about your method for drawing hair? whenever i draw, it kinda looks flat. but not like shadows and highlights flat, like…. shape flat????? idk…. if you have anything that helped you thatd be great…… 💗

hmmm honestly I don't really have any method, but I think doing live drawing helped me a lot understand how hair work. I'm so sorry I don't really know how I can teach you how to do it since I'm not a pro but I really recommend drawing from observation! whip out references and try to understand how different hair textures behave by drawing it.

One thing I can say is that instead of drawing each hair strand, I instead work with negative spaces to "give the idea" of hair rather than drawing it completely.

The idea of suggesting shapes instead of drawing it completely works with everything in drawing honestly! if you put the same amount of details everywhere, the eye doesn't know where to focus. You can put one subject at the center of your piece by choosing where you put a lot of detauils and where you don't. but I digress

I recommend looking up videos about negative spaces in drawing on yt, there's ton of them and it's a useful skill to have as an artist!

i don't what they've put in this stupid ship, I don't think I've been obsessed with a ship for so long... granted the fact that I'm writing fics and doing fanart might contribute to my obsession lasting so long. But anyway I just love them so much and the doomery is so so tasteful. Just something about them loving each other so much that they hate each other in the end ooooooo
