it is currently september 22nd in japan, which means it’s akihiko’s birthday!!!!! i decided to host another akihiko cake on twitter! like the 2018 akihiko cake, i opened submisssions for art of him that i could use as cake toppers and this year i got around 120+ submissions omfggg HENCE THIS BOUQUET OF AKIHIKOS ON TOP OF THIS CAKE!!! the cake itself is homemade with a great help from my siblings! it’s a crepe cake with cotton candy whipped cream and apple slices. we served it with vanilla ice cream and butter cookie crumbs :)♥

I love the way bandes dessinées sometimes progressively go from short cartoon gags to actual complex stories as the series goes on over the years

Like Les Nombrils started out as one-page gags of slapstick humor about two popular girls who hang out with a plain girl to make themselves look better and then the plain girl grows a spine and and rebels against them

and now the plain girl’s boyfriend is wrongfully accused a murdering arsonist… OR IS HE? and one of the popular girls discovers she’s interested in girls but isn’t quite ready to admit it to herself and the story also deals with the other popular girl’s financial difficulties

and it’s like wth this started out as ridiculously simple and somewhat sexist humor and now it has PLOT and full-fledged characters wow
