I've had this Tumblr account since I was 15 years old. I'm 28 now. I never really left the platform, but the way I use it has definitely changed over time. In the beginning, I used it to indulge in art I really liked, angsty teenage poetry and fandoms. It eventually became a meticulously curated vision board, and I still use it for that to this day. However, the way I make boards has not only evolved to Milanote, but I miss the way I used to use Tumblr as a kid.
The demise of Twitter has me thinking about social media as a whole, and why I'm still on Tumblr to this day. I want to get back into the ways I used to use Tumblr, but it feels weird to do it from this account for some reason. A big part of this account is a time capsule, if anything, and I'd like to keep it that way. For a few years, I've had a side blog where I've just reblogged art I like, and I want to migrate over there. I changed the name to closer reflect the identity I have on other platforms and I just want something that feels less impersonal? I started watching Star Trek and that's half the problem
So while I still will be a little active on this specific page, I mainly will be on dynamo-barbie posting the fun stuff. I don't even know how many of my followers are even active any more, but please follow me over there if you'd like. If we're mutuals, feel free to shoot me a message and I'll give you my other socials as well.
remember when you were 10 and you would hang out with your friends in order to Look At The Computer together like you went to their house and experienced the information superhighway together. and then leave

can you believe that the most human trait there is is art? we didn't start making art because it was needed for our survival or it helped us mate or hunt…. we make art for the sake of making it and for you and other people to enjoy it. this is why I love literature and art museums or just looking through my old sketches and stories…. making art is what it means to be human I think.
Reblog this to prove your blog was made before the February 2022 tumblr resurgence
i am terrified about what apollo may do with this post
kinda miss sitting in restaurants with my friends loudly having what is clearly the weirdest conversation the couple two tables over has heard all week and pretending not to notice them chuckle at my jokes but making sure to throw in enough exposition to give them context if they’re still listening
“why the hell is this one getting so many notes” i think, briefly, before realizing we’re three years into The Great Loneliness and i have just wistfulposted on yearning dot com
