This is a fake dating fic that has so many layers to it-- you get the sense of the complicated relationships between various people in town, the absolute chaos and absurdity of the fake dating occurring alongside the stress of wedding planning and family issues, and there's also this unresolved tension between Maru and Penny that looms over the whole narrative. This fic is super underrated and also singlehandedly made me ship Maru/Haley!! It's wonderful, and so cheeky at points!
