“What do you do when it’s so hot outside you feel like your skin is melting off?”
Roommates
The question caught Axel off guard, though honestly it wasn’t the first time he’d gotten that question. He didn’t get a chance to answer though before Roxas reacted. He couldn’t help but chuckle, waving off the blonde’s concern. It wasn’t like Riku was demanding answers after all. “Relax. I’m not planning on killing anyone today. I just came to visit.”
After Sora spoke, he kicked off his shoes then walked into the living room. It was kid of strange to see so many people in the space, since he’d only ever seen Roxas here, but it was a welcome change. The place seemed too big for just two people anyways. “Are they always like this?” Axel asked with an amused smirk
Roxas sulked after being scolded in front of Axel....not that he cared about what Axel though of him. Because he didn’t....at all.
“Yeah make yourself at home Axel, you know where stuff is since you’ve been here. Are you thirsty or hungry? Actually if no one ate we can probably go out and get breakfast?” He glanced at Sora. Riku hung out at Sora’s side.
Roommates
"He didn’t huh?" Axel was a little hurt, but not surprised. Roxas had always seemed like a fairly private person. "Not even once? That hardly seems fair."
He wasn’t sure why Roxas was so eager to leave, but it only helped to make Axel more curious. Who was this mysterious roommate that Roxas didn’t want him interacting with? Was the other one home as well? “Yeah, Roxas. What’s the rush? It’s not like we had plans or anything,” The corner of his lips lifted into a small smirk, “Why don’t we just stay here?
"Oi! Don't get upset or anything okay? You just...didn't come up in conversation is all." Roxas insisted.
It was almost like Axel and Sora were ganging up on him. He was sure if he tried hard enough, he could have gotten Axel to still agree to leave. But Sora....Sora was just as stubborn as he was and there was no way he'd let this go. "I....guess we could stay here...."
Roommates
Whoa, someone was really in a rush today. “Hey, what’s the hurry, Roxas? Slow down, will ya?” Before he could say more, the voice from inside got even closer, until Axel finally saw a face to match the voice. It was kind of funny actually—if Axel hadn’t already known better, he would have thought the stranger and Roxas were brothers. They looks somewhat a like at first glance, but the more Axel looked between them, the clearer the difference became. The first word that came up when he saw this Sora guy was sincere. Was he though? Axel intended to find out. "His best friend actually," The red head chuckled and shot Roxas a playful glance before turning his attention back to Sora. "So, you’re one of Roxas’s roommates, huh? Any friend of Roxas’s, is a friend of mine." He ran a hand through his hair in an absent attempt to fix it, "The name’s Axel."
"S-Sora! Um....hi...er...um..." He looked between Sora and Axel and wanted to facepalm at Axel's introduction. "Um...this is Axel. We met before we met up in town. He's a friend of mine. Axel, this is Sora, my roommate and friend from back home. You know, that island I told you about. We were friends growing up."
"We were just heading out...right Axel?" He elbowed the redhead.
Roommates
"Hey, hey. Don’t be like that, Roxas," Axel raised his hands up and looked almost sheepish. Honestly, was it so horrible that he’d come over to visit? "What’s the big deal, anyways? It’s the middle of the day. Got something to hide?" A voice came from inside the apartment then, faint, but Axel still heard it. His eyes shifted past Roxas then, trying to get a glimpse of the speaker, “Hm? Are your roommates home?” He hadn’t been expecting that, but it wasn’t like Axel minded. He was actually horribly curious.
Dammit! Roxas cursed under his breath when he heard Sora, glancing behind him before glancing at Axel.
"Let me just grab my shoes and we can get out of here okay?"
There was no real reason why Axel and his roommates could never meet it just...well if was hard for him to properly explain in words. Sure Axel had a few screws loose sometimes but he was a good guy....a really good guy. And so was Sora....and Riku if Roxas was being nice. But Roxas just felt...he didn't know, maybe that they'd judge Axel or try to get him to stop hanging out with him. And he wouldn't do that. So better safe than sorry right?
"It's nothing Sora!" He called. "I'm heading out for a bit. Be back later!"
Roommates
This could either go really well, or really badly, Axel wasn’t sure which. He was hoping for the first one, though, of course. After all, it wasn’t like he was doing anything wrong, he just wanted to see Roxas. He hadn’t heard from or even seen the blonde in almost two weeks, which had to be some kind of record. Whatever the case, Axel figured a visit was way over due.
It took him a bit to remember where Roxas’s room was, but after a few bad guesses, he stumbled upon one that seemed right and knocked. When there was no answer to that, he knocked again, “Yo! Roxas, are you home?”
When Roxas heard the knock at the door he almost choked on his soda. There's only one person that that obnoxious voice could have belonged to and he was not someone who had been invited today.
Riku and Sora were home! Dammit...couldn't the stupid redhead have been just a little bit more patient?! Before the knocking and yelling would grab more attention he yanked the door open, glaring up at Axel.
"What the hell are you doing?! Keep your voice down!" He hissed.
—♔ He watched Roxas head for the door, confusion spreading over his face slightly. He didn’t understand why there was the sudden invitation out, either. He grabs his shoes and quickly slips them on over his feet, grabs his wallet and apartment keys and heads out to meet Roxas by the door. “Ready.”
Roxas was happy to se Sora in higher spirits than he'd been in the other day.. Maybe this whole apology things would actually work out? He wasn't sure....but he'd give it a shot right? After all Soraput up with a lot of his shit so...he owed him.
"Okay good! Food this waaaaaay!"
"Hey, come on. Don’t be like that, Roxas," Axel was only partially successful blocking the hit, so he winced, but still managed a smile, "What’s the problem? Are you still job hunting or something?"
"I figure if I could get a full-time job, then Sora, one of my roommates, would get off my ass about signing up for classes this coming semester. But I can't get anything that will give me enough hours to excuse me from school. Ugh." Roxas groaned and flopped back on the couch, looking annoyed as be crossed his ankles over Axel's lap.
"Yeah, sure, why not? Any friend of your’s, is a friend of mine," Axel smiled, looking amused as he leaned back and relaxed against the couch cushions, "See, this is why I said we need to catch up. That job’s old news, Roxas. You’ve gotta keep up."
"Shut up." He grumbled, lifting the other couch cushion and wacking Axel with it. "Not my fault you can't keep a job okay?" Though....at least he had a job...
"Two extra people is a pretty big change. When do I get to meet them?" He smirked playfully before shrugging at the question, "Nothin’ too exciting. I’m going to start a new job tonight, but that’s no fun. Actually, things have been pretty quiet lately. It’s weird."
"You....want to meet them?" Roxas wasn't sure if that was a good idea or a very bad one. "Wait....didn't you just start a new job like a week and a half ago?"
Axel ran a hand through his hair and tried to think of something to say. “Honestly…I hadn’t really thought that far yet. There’s gotta be something though. Come on, spill.”
That won a chuckle from him and he rolled his eyes. "You're ridiculous. Well I used to live by myself and now I have two roommates? That's something I guess. What about you?"
"Well, you were alone, and so was I. I figured i’d come over and kill two birds with one stone." He flopped onto the couch next to Roxas, "And besides, we have a lot of catching up to do."
"Catching up? Axel I didn't see you for what? Maybe two weeks? All I did was skateboard and play video games. What kind of catching up did you want to do?"
"Ouch. Just because it’s January doesn’t mean you have to be so cold, Roxas. Lighten up."
"Why are you over here anyway? When you texted me and I said my roommates were out that didn't mean come over."
"Hey, come on, don’t ruin the fun. It was a serious question."
"It's January. No....it's not hot in here, and no...it's not you either."
"Is it hot in here, or is it just me?”
"......seriously?"
—♔ He blinks and stares at Roxas for a good long moment. Ramen sounded super good and it wasn’t like his stomach was against the idea. “Sure. I’ll go put my shoes on.”
"Really!? I mean...that's good! I'll wait by the door." He says, a little surprised Sora actually was going with him without pouting or sulking first. This was a good sign at least. Maybe he wasn't as mad as Roxas had feared.
"A new year in a new city. This could be a really good year....oooor a really bad one. Guess we'll find out."
