I have my Biochemistry final tomorrow and I am TERRIFIED! This is my worst subject. If I pass this last one, I will have only 4 classes left until I have my BSN.

When you wear scrubs so often that you forget how to dress normally
Scrubs, jammies, and work out clothes. Actually putting on jeans or shorts is an ordeal for me.
Also when you wear scrub caps so often you don’t know what to do with your hair either 😂😂😂😂
this on so many levels…
Finishing my 3 shifts like...
"There will be a Downtime in 30 minutes"
Actual footage of me when we have downtime
Casual.
Me: What’s their pressures like?
ER RN: Oh you know, 50 over dead.

Because Nurse Lives Do Matter
Just saw a really excellent, thoughtful post from ZDoggMD on a local matter, the taking hostage of a nurse at an area hospital. I hope you all can watch this an learn more about the situation and how we can support our fellow nurses, doctors, and other front-line staff every shift.
I’m sure that many of you, like myself, have had a patients or patient’s family threaten or actually assault you. Kind of insane, right? Bet that wasn’t something that Flo and Clara and all the other nursing greats were expecting, eh? A lot of us take it as a part of the job. But we shouldn’t.
This should not, cannot, and will not be tolerated. There is no excuse for behavior like that. To a degree, when you have some of our patients with brain injuries, psychiatric disorders, drugs or alcohol on board, or various other diagnoses, we cut them a little slack. They’re sick (in whatever applicable way) and need our care. But the way in which people just gloss over how often we are threatened or harmed (such as in this case) is pretty astounding.

When my patient takes a swing at me and threatens to hurt/kill me
I’m like:
A few minutes later, after security pinned them down and put them in 4 points, a spit mask, and a little vitamin H was given:
Note to my patients: don’t fuck with me.
When your patient says they feel like they’re gonna die and they look like it
When you get asked a question that you should probably know the answer to..
For example: the attending asks what two drugs make up augmentin and you remember amoxicillin, but not the other. But it’s all good because he had forgotten, too. (The answer is clavulanate.)
Two years ago I met the guy I’m with now, and we connected instantly but I was going into a new relationship, so we remained friends. Even though I battled with myself internally for months at my decision.
Today he said, if we had of started dating back then, today we would’ve had a family.!
I told him, mentally I wasn’t ready to embrace a man like him. I always have to learn things the hard way. I guess I went through all that drama and came back to square one, so I could learn how to appreciate a good thing when it crosses my path.
Ladies when you find a good good good man, don’t wait or second guess. Don’t chase what excites you, think wisely about the long term and your future. Honestly, there are some weird energies out there. Be careful.
I’m thankful that in the second time around, he’s mine.
Just thought to myself, “aw, it’s kind of sad that nursing school is coming to an end”
…..I have Stockholm syndrome
