"I agreed to get to know you," she says, raising an eyebrow at him and clutching her books to her chest. "So...prove me wrong, yea? Want to take a walk?"

"Yes, I'd like to take a walk." Nik let her go first before walking after her. "Why exactly haven't we got to know each other before now?" He asked with a slight frown.

Albus looked away thoughtfully. Either Nik was having him on or the rumours he’d heard had been wrong. “Uh, thanks. Nik.” He spoke a little awkwardly. “What’s the history of magic exam like?” he asked curiously, hoping he wasn’t pushing his luck for conversation.

“Two hours long and a hell of a lot of writing.” Nik nodded, he didn’t look the type to sit his exams but he did them anyway even if it meant he didn’t have a clue on the subject at least he tried. “And don’t stress yourself out, it’s easier than it looks.”

Albus nodded; he’d thought as much. He hated long exams, particularly when it would be writing nonstop. He hoped he wouldn’t have any more exams that day to save his wrist from any strain. “Not stressing, just… working hard,” he mumbled, sighing before closing the book. He looked at Nik again. “Why do you smoke?” he asked.

“Why do I smoke?” Nik repeated. “A way to vent my stress.” He shrugged. “I have no other ways, plus I dropped all the other stuff and just smoke these normal cigarettes now. Why so curious?”

Albus stared at the cigarette on the ground. “I just… surely there’s other things you can do? Instead of endangering your health.” He didn’t like the thought of what could happen to those who smoked, he’d heard all the horror stories and warnings from his mother and grandmother, which was why he hated seeing Scorpius or Lorcan - or even Rose, sometimes - smoking.

"Besides running or having sex?" Nik gave him a look. "Not really much else." He shook his head before plonking himself next to Albus. "The good thing though is...I've stopped smoking the more dangerous stuff and I smoke those less and less now." He indicated to the butt on the floor.

Yes, once you get to know you, and I obviously don’t know you very well. She looks back across her shoulder and gives him a little smile.

You want to get to know me? Then meet me outside after class and I’ll show you that I’m a good guy. Then that was all he put after that, he turned back to the class and got stuck in.

Ok. She threw it back at him but saw that he wasn’t paying much attention and sighed. She figured she would just wait until class was over and then deal with it.
