i’ve been wanting to talk about this for AGES. I have so much to say on this topic, for gods sake.

People love to say “Mickey fell harder” because his love is loud and violent and obvious.

But Ian’s love? Ian’s is constant. Patient. Unshakable. He waited. He chased. He broke and still came back. Over and over and over. Every version of Ian has always belonged to Mickey, even in the seasons where they weren’t together. Even when he tried to move on.

That kid is been head over heels for Mickey from literally DAY ONE.

And yes, he left him several time. But his bipolar disorder for me absolutely played a role in the times he left. That doesn’t erase how deeply, fiercely in love he always was. If anything, it makes it even more heartbreaking: loving someone that hard while your brain is constantly at war with you.

Ian doesn’t just love Mickey.

Ian orbits him.

Centers his choices around him.

Measures safety by him.

He always looks at Mickey like a man who found his home.
