*hugs myself* thank you for trying every day
one thing at a time. one chore, one assignment, one task, one day. one at a time and go from there. breathe. you can do this- this one thing.
People are so afraid of change they’ll die defending a broken system.
don’t close yourself off from potentially wonderful things because you fear the possibility of something bad
“We’ll survive, you and I.”
— F. Scott Fitzgerald
“The way we were first loved and the ways we have been loved ever since form our definition of what love means to us. Some people really feel loved when someone gives them a gift. Others experience it when people stand up for them. Still others feel loved when someone goes the extra mile to help them. If our mother showed love by holding us in our pain or joy, without engulfing or controlling us, that will be the behavior that always feels like love to us. We feel love now as we first received it; we give love the way others gave it to us. Thus, since love is unique to each person, we read and write love, receive and give it, in the style designed by our past experience. Yet, like good handwriting, our unique signature can be read by others.””
— David Richo, How to Be an Adult in Love: Letting Love in Safely and Showing It Recklessly
let yourself feel. existence can feel forced. you won’t ever feel ready. events will happen outside your control. and that’s okay. that’s life. but you can still find your own ways. despite it all. your own ways to stay sane, and find your sources of peace, excitement & happiness.
let go of everything you can’t control. everything. focus on nurturing yourself, with what you have. there will always be something over the garden fence. but you forget your own life can be just as beautiful. it just needs your attention and care.
the future isn’t as bleak as you picture it. every morning is a new beginning, to do good, to learn, to love, to be loved. even when you’re at home all day, there’s so much to experience. trust that you’re meant to be here, right now, for a reason.
your life will rarely feel like a coming of age movie. it isn’t meant to be. but don’t think about the things you can’t change, the imperfections. notice the things in front of you. the things you can touch, the songs you can dance to, the little things that make life pretty nice. let yourself feel, but don’t stay in one place for too long. save yourself from the spirals. take care of yourself. stay hopeful.
the days that belong in golden photographs will come. the days that belong in a movie will come. the good days will come. but for now, hold onto this moment. look around you, at the people who love you. and know that you’re still young. there’s so much quiet time to self reflect, to improve, to start seeing life in a new light. you have so much time after this. you’re gonna be okay.
take time off from over analyzing yourself
literally though, it’s so nice to take a break of obsessing over labels and rationalizing each emotion and behaviour.....and just exist. simply acknowledge your personhood and exist.
reminder that this blog, while not politically focused, supports BLM. bootlickers and racists aren’t welcome here, and never will be.
black lives matter and pride are intrinsically linked. the black trans community have done so much for us, we owe it to them to not forget their movement this month. without black lives, there would be no pride. black lives matter, today and always
don’t forget on pride month

There's something so deeply evil about making fun of and blaming regular Chinese people for a virus all while they're the ones suffering through it, dying and losing family members and friends as if the victims created the virus on purpose with their own hands specifically to annoy you like if this had happened in germany or something everyone would be like #prayforgermany #iamparis like i hope you die
Also, a lot of the panic at this point is unfounded and overblown.
Yes this virus has unfortunally already killed a lot of people, which is a big tragedy, but the thing people seem to not awknowledge is that these cases were almost all patients with prior health issues.
Most young people seem to present with cold like symptoms which varry in intensity. And it's likely that a lot of the people infected will be making a recovery, especially with the rate medical profesionals are working on finding better treatments and a vaccine.
This isn't some walking dead you have it and you will die without question kind of scenario.
It's a dangerous illness, yeah, but it won't be some appocalyptic event.
This also isn't the first time we are dealing with a Coronavirus btw people:
We had Sars in 2003-2005 and Mers in 2012.
Infact, the chinese medical experts are making progress in developing treatments and hopefully a vaccine due to the work that was done for these illnesses.
They are currently looking into a HIV drug that helped during the Sars epidemic and already reported at least one case of successfully treating a patient with this. They are currently looking deeper into that and hoping to replicate these results.
Literally China's medical workers are leading the research to find a way to combat this virus while risiking their own health to help patients and not even being able to go home to make sure they don't infect their loved ones.
They are literally the heros of this whole ordeal.
Oh and another thing a lot of biggots especially are trying to ignore:
The virus was traced back to a fish market. It was not transphered due to lacking hygene or from some "weird" food chinese people happen to eat.
Coronaviruses can spread from all sorts of animals, it literally could have happened everywhere in the world.
But because it was China and people are Xenophobic, suddenly the chinese are being demonized through their suffering and people try to bend backwards to make it their responsibility when it literally is as much their fault as a earthquake or a tsunami would have been.
