can y'all stop being weird about latinos speaking spanish? i swear to god there are so many fandoms with non-bipoc members (so, white people) that fantasize about someone in their ship who is latino speaking spanish just out of nowhere. "oMg I cAN WAIt fOr sO aND SO tO rANDomLy sAY 'MI aMoR'" can you fucking stop PLEASE. it's harmful. it stereotypes latinos as people who randomly speak spanish when they're mad or when they're "spicy" or whatever the fuck. it's infuriating as FUCK and it's gross.

not every latino is comfortable speaking spanish, especially in front of people who don't speak it and ESPECIALLY in front of white people. some latinos don't even speak spanish, anyway! (and there are so many different spanish dialects.) i grew up being told in school that i wasn't allowed to speak it because we "HAVE to speak english". it's been years and i'm just now getting comfortable enough to even listen to spanish music, let alone speak the language itself. and spanish was my first fucking language!!!!!!

can fandoms please stop fucking fetishizing latinos. for the love of god. we're not objects. we're people. and while we're at it, fandoms need to stop fetishizing bipoc characters in general. i'm fucking sick of it. as i said before: we're not objects or pawns to fuel your sick fantasy. we're people. respect us.
