The events of the past 24 hours has Sam on edge. She actually startles at the sound of Mike’s voice, a jump of red-clad shoulders. A hum comes before the question, green widening s l o w l y.

“I…didn’t like you much after that, I’m not going to lie.” She still cringes even just referencing the event, a certain bitterness rising. Perhaps it’s the new knowledge colouring it all so much darker. “But I mean, I didn’t want to just leave you to the wendigo. And—you’re not as bad as I thought. The Mike I saw during all of this shit isn’t who I saw a year ago.”

A pause before she adds, “How long do you think they’ll keep us here?”
