Chris slipped his phone safely into his pocket so his idle fingers could rest on the warmth of his coffee mug. It had been months since he had last seen Sam. Nowadays, she was the only one he saw from their original group. Time had weighed in on their friendships, easing the group apart until all they saw of each other were the rare Facebook posts.
After everything that happened at the lodge, it wasn’t hard to believe they had gone their separate ways. Luckily, Chris still had Sam. No matter how infrequent their visits were, he was truly grateful for them.
