It's so strange being a romantic but never considering the possibility that you could be the object of it. Perhaps thats a reflection of how I grew up, love was for the white girls, the skinny girls, the soft and sweet kind. I am not any of those things.

My friends will be like yeah you'll find love and i can't bring myself to say I don't believe them.

I read a lot of romance books, most of them dont mention race, just a girl doing this and that. But it is always a white girl, a small skinny white girl. That is the default. But because of that she is just a girl.

Everyone else is more than the noun. A character who is brown will be a brown girl, a charcater who is plus sized is a plus sized character. They dont get to just be a noun, there adjectives are more important.

Then back to the romance books obsession, we are getting more diversity yes but it feels like its one adjective per noun. A POC must adhere to the beauty standards, a neurodivergent character can't be plus sized, yada yada.

This kinda thing has most likely warped my way of thinking, no, it definitely has. Since when have I seen myself as these descriptive words rather than what it is meant to describe. Sometimes I do it without realising, as a joke ill ask my firneds if they know any hot guys who are into minorities, or sometimes Ill say brown girls, or fat girls or Muslim girls and sometimes a combination of the sort among other things. Its a curious thing, that i dont see myself in that way but I expect others to. And unfortunately it all goes back to romance, I crave it so badly and ive never received a drop. Thats when I go back to my books and try to spot the difference. It is the adjectives I find.

Perhaps I shall never be more than them.

I love when im sat at my desk with 900 words of my essay up knowing full well its due in 2 days and I have another 1.6k to do but I just wanna read manhwa. Leisure is more pleasurable when the clock beckons me.

Cut to the current time, a year later, she still likes him. So in thinking fuck yeah she gonna go get her man causw he defo still likes her. She gives her love letter but its also an apology letter qnd hes like theres no need to apologise, I was lowkey stupid too. So im like on the edge of my seat in anticipation because I want a happy ending. I want a soft and sweet love story for my cute Yiro.

I dont get one. They split ways once more with an unsaid rejection and her thoughts about her feelings for him.

It's an ending for them that is nuanced and it's realistic maybe idk. But I want her to be happy. Damn it I want a cute and sweet and lovely plus size character to get her happy ending. I already know the other MCs will get it. Well I do have like 30 chapters left so perhaps I shall hold onto some hope for my darling Yiro.

I have finished the series, th4 main couple obviously got back together. Darling Yiro didn't end up with the boy BUT SHE DID END UP WITH A SWEETHEART CALLED SEOWON. She's the girl with the purple hair on the cover and I am happy. She got her happy ending yippeeee!!!! I really like when series show different kinds of couples, like why do most straight series only show straight couples, bl series only show bl, gl only show gl. I really like when series show different kinds, because at the end of the day all these different kinds of love exist in the same world.
