from the great minds who brought you "what if ralsei was a girl." we now present: "what if ralsei was a system"
unfortunate truth of reality is that oftentimes 15 year olds will say/do/believe some stupid bullshit because they are 15 but telling them that they believe that because they are 15 is probably the most counterproductive thing in the entire universe
i remember being 15 and wanting literally nothing more than to be taken seriously and listened to and every thought and feeling i had was dismissed because i was a hormonal teenager. i was well aware at that point that a lot of the things i felt were probably because i was a kid, but that didnt make any of it less real, and being dismissed because of my age 1. did not help 2. did not make me feel better 3. made me angry at and untrustworthy of adults because they refused to listen to me. teenagers are people. kids are people. one of the only major things separating them from adults are experience and wisdom. they have like. you know. interiority
like in YOUR mind you may think youre being helpful by going 'well you're a kid, its not really a big deal, youre okay, youll get over it' but that does not register as "helpful affirmation that everything will turn out fine and the only reason im upset is because of something out of my control so its better to just try and come to terms with it" it registers as 'adult dismissing my real tangible problems and sadness and anger because of my age and inadvertently calling me stupid'
really hard to parse your true intention with this post since if im being 100% honest you come off as flippant and untrusting of children and teenagers to communicate their needs. i think operating on a "well yeah they're 15 they don't understand that they're stupid" basis even when your aim is to 'make them feel listened to' is just self defeating. as a kid i'd have rather someone dismissed me on behalf of being 15 and immature as opposed to them going through the mental gymnastics of 'well. they are 15, clearly they are unexperienced and unwise, but they still have feelings so let me pretend to treat them like an adult so they don't feel bad'
im not being 'untrusting of them to communicate their needs', im saying that yes, to an adult, a lot of the concerns and worries and feelings of a kid are going to come across as unserious, and if they happened to an adult, WOULD be unserious, but it doesn't matter because you need to treat them with respect. because they are people. as a person in the notes pointed out, being devastated at being broken up with over a "relationship" in middle school where they talked to their partner twice is an issue that, no matter what, is not going to feel serious to a more experienced person. but that thing is a big deal to the person Experiencing It, and dismissing them is not going to help them, is not going to make them feel better, and is ultimately going to make them be distrustful of you as an adult and make them feel like they can't confide in you
to make a more extreme comparison, a toddler scraping their knee is going to be the end of the world. they havent experienced a lot of pain. they dont understand its not a big deal, because this is the biggest deal they have encountered before. are you going to dismiss them, tell them theyre being dramatic, and not take care of them? no. youre going to treat them with empathy and respect and care. frankly id hope you'd treat an adult whos screaming and crying over a scraped knee with respect and care too tbh
i cannot understand why you would rather someone disregard 15-year-old-you's concerns than like. making an effort to understand you and care. that makes 0 sense to me. thats what my parents did and it literally ruined my relationship with them and made me even more suicidal than i already was as a teenager lmfao. If I am responsible for a kid's wellbeing, I am, in fact, going to make an effort to make them not feel bad, regardless of if I think its a "big deal"
First off, I see your point in regards to the amount of attention we direct towards issues varying at different ages, but my critique is mainly that your post seems like it is promoting a sort superficial way of supporting teenagers with their problems. However your post hinges on the basis of the teenager's problem being objectively stupid so I guess in that respect your philosophy is pretty rational. If the problem isn't objectively stupid though I feel like its not a good attitude
all i am saying is that you should try and be sympathetic and understanding of people younger and more inexperienced than you, and because people tend to jump to 'well theyre a kid, theyre hormonal, its not actually a big deal', specifically highlighted how sometimes the issues those ppl r having can seem particularly silly to adults
it may not technically be the most 'genuine' response, but if we went around responding to everything on our kneejerk feelings and not with logic everyone would be rude and irrational all the time. treating people with respect and making an effort to be kind regardless of your base emotions isnt the same thing as lying and being shallow

The deliberate systematic purge of transfems by the staff has gotten so bad that not even Gooseworx was safe. Fucking Gooseworx.
Wishing the current Tumblr owners nothing but swift bankruptcy and eventual sale of the hellsite to someone else
Gooseworx didn't deactivate, she was banned
Recently, you cannot access Gooseworx's blog anymore, and people thought she deactivated her Tumblr. However, she was actually banned. When someone deactivates their main blog, a string of numbers and letters is attached to their username: "-deactivated[year][month][day]"
When you look at posts made by Gooseworx, there's no "deactivated" and no numbers
Some speculate that this might have been a sideblog, since there's no "deactivated" string if you delete a sideblog, but it was her main blog. You can't use sideblogs to like posts. If you search "Gooseworx liked this" on google, you will find proof ithat she liked multiple Tumblr posts.
All of this adds up to one thing: Gooseworx was banned from Tumblr. And why? Gooseworx is a trans woman, and Tumblr staff hates trans women and bans them for no reason, and also, there is an ongoing harassment campaign against Gooseworx, so I bet they must have mass-reported her blog and gotten her banned. Fuck the "tadc critical" community, anyone in the "anti tadc" or "anti gooseworx" tags is NOT to be trusted!!!!!! They weaponized staff's transmisogyny to ban a successful trans woman off the platform all because the show didn't end the way they wanted it to.
Every morning, the queen asked her magic mirror to show her the most beautiful person in the world.
The mirror replied "To whom?"
"The miller who made the flour for my bread," the queen would say, or "Whoever spun the thread my shawl was made of".
The mirror would show her, and she'd be amazed.
