"Pfft. Feelings for someone. That stuff is gross and not worth my time.”
"You are a horrible liar, Philotes. You always have been."
storgi replied to your post:Is not dealing with her children’s shenanigans...
ily mom
"Nemesis says you have feelings for someone?"
Is not dealing with her children's shenanigans today.
"Uh…Thanks."
He was going to lose. He was going to lose terribly, his gut was telling him so. But he honestly didn’t care. He didn’t come across many people that could brutally defeat him in combat. So when he did, he wouldn’t let an opportunity to fight pass up. Plus..Maybe if he lasted long enough he’d end up on her good side. Probably not.
"Remember what I said regarding Nemesis. However, I doubt she will come running here. She can hold her own."
Was she being generous in saying that? Certainly. However, it was the truth. Nemesis rarely asked for her mother's help in anything. She was the child that brutally went after other's if they wronged her. It was cute.
"Moooother~" Excuse Hemera while she tackles Nyx with a hug. "How have you been?"
She had to tolerate the sudden affection simply because--this was her child. Features softened just barely as she sighed out, a hand lifting to press against her head. "I've been fine, Hemera. And you?"
"Skilled enough…A little rusty cause I haven’t practiced in a while, but skilled enough."
He had gotten lazy with his hand-to-hand combat, relying on his weapons a little to much in the past few centuries. He would probably end up getting beat, but he’d consider it good enough practice.
"I wish you luck then."
She was being genuine. It wasn't often anyone challenged her to a fight, let alone hand-to-hand combat. She was brutal outside of combat and even worse in it. She had to be civil and offer some sort of optimistic feeling towards him for being brave enough to challenge her.
He didn’t have any sense. The only thing in his mind most of the time was the need to just fight. So he just went with it. If he could last in a fight with her he’d have to give himself a little more credit.
"I’ll fight like that then, too. Hand combat isn’t something I get to do very often…"
"Are you skilled in it?"
If he wasn't, he would be crushed in seconds. She could fight hand-to-hand and with weapons, it didn't matter. She just chose not to. She was strong enough without flinging around some blade or gun.
He pushed himself into a seated position, her words lingering in his mind. “…Damn. I wonder too.” He certainly was still an idiot. Huffing, he would curl fingers into his hair.
Slowly he would stand. “Hey…I’m guessing by how you just dragged me you fight pretty damn good. I wanna fight ya some day, just not today I gotta make sure I don’t have a damn concussion or whatever.”
She stopped herself at his words, silence echoing in the vast halls for a moment. He wanted to fight her? He truly had no sense. However, she saw no problem with it. Maybe she was getting rusty. Taking it out on him was perfect.
"...Perhaps. I do not use weapons other than my hands and feet."
He probably would have stood up to fight back if he hadn’t hit the ground so hard. But he would remember this the next time they crossed paths because he definitely wanted to fight her at least once.
He would raise a hand, thumb sticking up, but showed no signs of moving from his current position. “…Sounds great, sounds like fun…”
"It's a wonder my daughter chose you...last time she visited, she complained of how much of an idiot you were. What changed, I wonder..."
She was already starting to walk away at that point, not even bothering to offer him a hand. Her heels clicked as she slowly paced, a low sound leaving her. She really was curious.
Before he even had the chance to respond, he was slammed into the ground. He would’ve said he was seeing stars, but that would be a little too ironic. “…S..Shit.” He couldn’t even move, it was like having a giant stepping on you.
This was probably why his dad didn’t mess around with her.
"Yeah…Yeah I hear ya. Don’t hurt her. Message crystal…Clear."
She was expecting him to get excited and want to fight her, but she was glad he had some sort of brain in that thick skull. Her grip released him and she stood one more--adjusting the black fabric covering her frame.
"--Excellent. We should get along just fine then." It was hard to tell whether or not she was lying, since there was far more to it then just respecting her daughter.
"Really? Didn’t think that many people knew. Hm." Sarcasm dripped from his words whether he liked them to or not. He probably knew it was better not to mess around with her but he had bad habits—Fooling around with people that could erase his existence was one of those habits.
"Hurting her certainly isn’t on my list. Though she does enjoy doing so to me. Can’t say I’m complaining." Shut up, please.
"--I see."
Her tone should have been warning enough--before she took physical action. Feet carried her delicately in front of him before--
She easily grabbed him and threw him over her shoulder--slamming him hard enough to crack the obsidian stone beneath him. "Was I not clear enough, God of War? My children are scorned by people like you. If you dare hurt her or upset her enough to send her here, well...we'll see the death of a god for the first time ever."
now, who wants some starters?
"Really? Must be more of a celebrity than I considered…Ha." Humor was probably the worst thing to go with right now…But he wasn’t exactly known for his common sense. Hands were placed on his shoulders as he watched her, rather quiet for once.
"The only thing you're famous for is for being with my daughter." Her voice, while it was quiet, seemed to echo in the halls. Her words were forceful, but soft--quite the opposite from her loud children. She stopped pacing, purple eyes shifting to look over at him. "You hurt her...and we will see the end of War."
Lost was probably an understatement. The God of War was known for his violence and strength…Sense of direction certainly did not fall into his skill set. Getting himself into trouble, however. That was a special skill he had, and it was displayed as he bumped into Night herself.
"—…Hey."
"This is perfect...I've been meaning to have a word with you." Her hands clasped behind her back, heels clicking against the obsidian floor as she slowly circled around him. He may have been a higher up god than most of her children--but with her, it was a different story. She had been there at creation. She was a titan. Even Zeus himself knew better than to anger her.
genikos
He had probably gotten lost, since he had accompanied her daughter on the small trip. Unfortunately for him--she had found him. She knew the affairs of her children well and this one, in particular, deserved her attention.
"--War."
tabernae
Her domain had finally consumed the skies--the only form of light being the moon and the twinkling stars. Most people slept when it was dark, giving her the chance to wander out from the shadows--and into view.
