“Being a little cool would be better than not,” Gabe agreed with a nod of his head. “Hopefully the music tonight remains good. I really don’t want to have to suffer through a night of little dancing. Although there might be more to do here.” He’d never been in a Frat House before, but he had the feeling there were things to do. “Maybe just a beer?” Gabe said with a shrug of his shoulders. He didn’t want to drink anything too much, and he wasn’t exactly a big fan of wine. “Isn’t that the go to at a party like this? What are you having?”
“Oh, like us?” Blaine grinned at Ben. His eyes followed towards where Ben had nodded. He watched the two newcomers with interest. “Well the nervousness is par for the course. Don’t you remember our first nights here?” He patted Ben’s arm comfortingly. “I can’t believe we get to help with the pledges this year. Sometimes it feels like it was just yesterday that we were rushing.” Blaine chuckled. “I’d say let them get their feet wet and if it seems like they are floundering, we can goo in a little closer with some ‘brotherly advice’ and see from there.”
“If I remember correctly they have a game room, read something about a pool table...I guess we’ll have to mingle and find members who can give us a tour,” Cameron replied. He chuckled at Gabe’s reply. “And I’m the expert about frat parties? From the smell of it I guess you’re right,” he gave a shrug with his shoulders. “Getting a diet coke is out of the question, right?” Cameron was a lightweight when it came to drinking.
“Smartass,” Ben rolled his eyes at Blaine but he couldn’t help the chuckle that escaped him. Giving a little nod he kept his eyes on the two. “They look as nervous as I felt that first time we walked in,” he replied. “We’ve come a long way, my friend.” Ben grinned and raised a hand in greeting when one of their brothers passed by. “So make them feel welcome and at home when needed, got it.”
