Day 28 Spread: The Truth

STRENGTH: You can try to make things easier, with enough force, concentration and need—but in the end; some things just plain happen.

THE FIVE OF SWORDS: Troubles to the left of me, troubles to the right of me—troubles exist for us all, so stop feeling special and just go with it.
The ongoing saga of Harker and the stapler
My ball python, Harker, is really scared of this one stapler.
Every time he sees it, he balls up.
I was grading today and sure enough, the stapler was still scary.
However, for the first time, I introduced a second stapler!
He was nervous at first…
But it didn’t take him long to warm up to it.
Pretty soon it became his best friend!
There was nothing the new stapler couldn’t do!
Including protecting him from the other stapler.
The moral of the story?
My snake is a weirdo.
Update: Today I took Harker to my office, where he met another stapler.
He was fairly apathetic at first, but eventually they got on pretty well!
This stapler was smaller than either of the others, but one thing was sure: this stapler was definitely not scary!
Am I any closer to understanding my snake’s strange relationship with staplers?
Absolutely not.

TEMPERANCE: Before my health failed, it was easy. Now it is not. My cats are as kind as they can be, as they are cats

TWO OF SWORDS: My moods are so wild, my pain is so high and my common sense long gone. I don’t know how I am, either.
3: What kind of love do you need?
JUDGEMENT: The universe is proving this to be true. I’m getting past the point of anyone wanting me, and so far to go to the end.

Tarotpocalypse Day 26
Day 26 Task: Balance (Pendulum Work)
This spread and assignment was provided by the lovely duckievamp, who has been an avid supporter of Tarotpocalypse since the day of conception and is a talented pendulum diviner, aura reader and card reader. This challenge is primarily a tarot challenge, but may be supplemented if desired by pendulum work with the instructions provided.
My pendulum is a beloved amazonite pendulum bought years ago. Cards are my beloved Celtic Dragon Set
I: What is in balance?
PENDULUM: no – nothing is in balance but understandable the things that are wrong will help fix things.
EIGHT OF PENTACLES: Learning new skills, setting up new opportunities; deep under the pain and exhaustion there is my brain. Right now it is sluggish and slow and hard to spark acting—in truth, if this was a fantasy world, I’d be on a stipend, and have the TIME to recuperate—working the day AFTER I got home from the hospital was a bad place to start, no? But, the brain is there, and trying so hard to get my life back under control.
2: What is out of balance?
PENDULUM: yes – my life, health and spirit are close to shredded; one needs fixing, if not all.
TEN OF PENTACLES: EXACTY right—my whole ::making gesture:: OME is out of order; but I have worked slowly to heal septic wounds, and going through agony to make things better IN my body. The day I can roll from back to front without agony, I will raise an ice cold glass of water to the universe thanking everything for giving me what I needed to survive this, as well as to my family.

Day 25 Spread: A Change In Perspective
This challenge can be done either from the perspective of you for yourself, or you as a character. This challenge may be done for someone else if desired.
1: What is your perspective?
THE EMPEROR: Life needs you to sometimes lead and sometimes follow, but there are times I, the reader here, find it hard to release one or the other. This in turn ends up with my taking on things where I should have let someone else with more experience and this is a primary aspect to keep in sight--- whether for love, life and work. Unbalanced self leads to faulty efforts in everything.
2: What is the perspective of someone you don’t understand?
FOUR OF PENTACLES: I have an amazing friend. He and his wife kept my wife and I in our home when we were unable to find work. I don’t always get him—as such I tend to apply the way so many others deal with is when I know, in truth, he is so busy that it’s not the guilt *I* have over owing him and his wife, but his life—and yet, time after time I worry; it is so hard to apply sweeping gestures of truth over the real truth out there.
3: What do you share?
PSGE OF WANDS: That as low and depressed and emo I get, there is a part of me—a small baby part of me that thinks we’ll be ok. It sits there, fingers in its ears as life wraps all around me and is the one part of life that, along with the faith and love of my life, keeps me waking up each day
