To his right, a chest sat on the floor. It was an unimpressive thing; barely the size of a basket one would carry food home from the market in. The crate sitting next to it felt more promising - it came up to his waist, and he could see it was still securely nailed shut.
“Well, well, well,” he mused, taking a step towards the crate, pulling his dagger out as he did. It only took him a minute to pry the boards on the front loose, and the crate fell open. Much to his disappointment, all it contained was two heavy footstools, blood-red leather atop dark wood.
“That’s useless,” he grumbled, giving one of the stools a half-hearted kick. He moved on to the chest, examining it quickly. It didn’t appear to be locked, and considering his discovery of the footstools, Astarion didn’t have high hopes as to its contents.
Then again, he’d been surprised before.
He flipped the lid open, and everything turned to glass as his mind splintered into pieces.
Schlocktober is a month-long writing and drawing event. It was established in 2025 as a response to a kink-free Kinktober calendar that became infamous for having way too many rules.
Its unconventional prompts and loose standards encourage creative freedom and reject morality policing in fandom spaces.

Why "schlock"?
It means trash/junk (affectionate), and that's the quality of content I'm striving for with these prompts. It's also fun to say.
But, y'know, if you want to take a prompt and turn it into a masterpiece of a whumpy longfic, go for it. That's creative freedom, baby.
What fandom is this for?
Schlocktober is fandom and ship neutral. At the time of posting, there are 218 different fandoms represented in previous works.
What if I want to combine prompts? What if I want to write or draw things out of order? What if I want to make a video? What if...
Go for it. Get weird. Do an interpretive dance. Mix in last year's prompts if you want to. Let the spirit of schlock move you.
What does [prompt] mean?
You tell me. It's all open to interpretation.
Is RPF okay?
Yes, so long as it's clearly fiction. See rule #3 below.
There are rules?
Just three.
No AI use.
Having the plagiarism machine do your work for you is the opposite of creative. A typo-riddled mess is better than AI-written fanfiction. A stick figure drawn on the back of a napkin is better than soulless AI slop art. Believe in your own ability to produce trashy works.
Tag appropriately.
'Creator Chose Not to Use Archive Warnings' means anything goes. 'No Archive Warnings Apply' means your work is guaranteed not to contain any of the major archive warnings (non-con, major character death, graphic violence, or underage sex).
No irl bigotry or crimes.
Your characters can be as problematic as you'd like, but if you try to post a weird pro-JK Rowling essay or threatening manifesto or something you're not going in the collection. Don't kill the vibes.

“Oh, fuck. Oh, fuck. Oh, FUCK,” Gale whispered, staring at the screen of his laptop while ice trickled down his spine.
A : he told me he had a CAT. And I still went home with him.

A : i didn’t bother to tell him i wasn’t in it anymore
Gale knew - he knew - that he should stop this session right now. He had absolutely no business continuing this conversation, considering that he was extremely sure that this was the man he’d brought home two nights ago.
The rest of the session passes in a blur of the same arguments, the same conversations, the same everything. Gale’s sick of it. He’s sure Astarion is sick of it. Hells, he’d bet money Jaheira is sick of it.
“I’ll see you gentlemen next week,” Jaheira says, shaking both of their hands. “I know it doesn’t always feel like it, but you are making progress. You’re finally digging into some of the deeper issues.”
Astarion makes a snorting noise of disbelief.
Gale’s never agreed with him more.

Twink Astarion / Daddy Dom Gale.
Astarion starts out game-sized and aged. Each time Gale doms him in bed, he becomes more and more twinkish, growing younger and thinner like a gay Benjamin Button.
Astarion in a Dress / Gale in Distress.
Gale and Astarion wear the exact same dress to an event. Astarion looks way better in it, so Gale tries to sabotage him by spilling drinks, tripping him, etc. Back and forth hijinks ensue.
Soft Vampire Ascendant Astarion / Vampire Spawn Gale.
Fed up with his lover/master, Vampire Spawn Gale traps Astarion in a vat of liquid until his body dilutes into a soft goop.
Pregnant Astarion / BJ Queen Gale.
After his 17th abortion goes awry, Astarion resolves only to do mouth stuff. That's just fine with Gale, but somehow in the course of giving Astarion a blowjob he manages to get him pregnant again.
Babyfied Astarion / Therapist Gale.
Gale, a Pediatric Therapist, is perplexed when grown adult Astarion shows up for a session. Not knowing what else to do, Gale hands him a coloring book and tries his usual tactics to get Astarion to open up.
Sex-Crazed Astarion / Virgin Gale.
Astarion is going for the world record for most elven orgasms in a 24-hour period. He's aiming to nut inside hundreds of recipients. Gale, having had no luck in romance, responds to the ad.
Self-Inserts.
Trying to keep a fandom alive, Gale creates a silly writing event. Astarion misinterprets his intentions and trolls him relentlessly.
