these have just been sitting here since I reposted that video where I'm a trans baby and I feel weird deleting them because they're adorable and really validating but I'm never going to answer them and having stuff in inboxes stresses me out so I guess I'm just leaving this here for when I feel sad about myself in the future

What surgeon did you go to? If you don't mind me asking! It's always really awesome to see a black trans guy's surgery results because it relates better to what id look like

I went to Dr. Garramone in Davie, Florida. When I was scheduling consultations I was interested in Dr. Crane in San Francisco and Garramone. Both of them (especially Garramone) seemed to have the most consistently good results and both of them made sense for me logistically because I have immediate family in both areas/wouldn’t have to pay for lodging. I went with Garramone for two reasons:

1) Time—Dr. Crane was scheduling out to April when I called in September and Dr. Garramone was scheduling out to November.

2) Cost—Dr. Crane prices individual surgeries, and from what I could tell it seemed like I would be paying as much or more than I would with Dr. Garramone (who does flat—and that is an intentional pun—rates). 

He was running late literally every time I had to see him (he does phone consultations and only requires a single pre-op and post-op appointment for double incision with no “ManSculpting” or whatever) but was otherwise super professional, super calming, and he seems truly invested in doing positive and affirming work for trans folks. 

And yeah no I totally feel it re: Black trans guy results—I have other surgical scars that would definitely look different on other skin and finding folks whose scars might better reflect how mine might look was a struggle.
