"I don't wanna do that drill"
When coach tells you the workout
Watching another coxswain take a bad line
When a novice thinks they know better than you
When coach pushes practice back an hour
When coach shits on someone's technique
When a novice tells you what to
Reblog if you're a rower or a coxswain
Coxing novice in shitty conditions
Coxing mixed line ups
When someone compliments your line
!!!!!!!!!!! Thank you guys so much! 🙃🙃🙃
for some reason I can't steer straight in the spring. I am very worried because I want the top boat next season, Im good with calls and I can steer well in the fall but I think I get distracted in the spring. what can i do to help me steer better?
I usually just pick a point and stick to it as best I can. I might lift my head up between calls every now and then to stick to it and adjust if necessary. Try not to touch the steering too much, be gentle. Other people I know like to pick something from each side and imagine lines from them that cross ahead so you always have 2 things to go off of instead of one. Another thing you can do if and only if you have a really well buoyed line is focus on keeping blades the same distance off that line the entire way down the course. Or always staying centered in your lane but lanes aren't always marked perfectly so you have to be careful with that one. Steering straight is also a lot easier in a bow loader because you don't have tall rowers right in front of you but don't let the discourage you. Good luck in the spring!
