Wait For Me

Pairing: “Aged up” Luke x Ester

Summary: The second semester at the academy was coming to an end as Luke was coming to a conflict with his feelings towards the human exchange student. His biggest problem was deciding if he was going to either tell her or to continue to keep it a secret.  What will become the outcome of his decision?

Another day of classes as walking besides Simeon I let out a small yawn while we made our way to our first class. “Are you still feeling tired,” I heard Simeon ask which of course I quickly shook my head in a no manner and let out a small huff. “No! Even though we’ve been here for sometime it’s still a bit hard to wake up when there’s no sunshine during the day time like back in the celestial realm,” I answered back as I didn’t feel that tired, if anything I was excited about seeing Ester since it was a long weekend. Getting to our classroom not everyone was there but I could hear a small outbreak of laughter; one beautiful laugh in particular that rang like a soothing melody to my ears.

Looking over I felt myself smiling when seeing Ester who was standing between two of the demon brothers as they talked to Solomon; most likely about what they did the past weekend. “Oh good morning Simeon, good morning Luke,” I heard Solomon greet us as now the group's eyes were on us as the two demon brothers gave their own greeting. I went over to Ester with a big smile and hugged her around her waist as I cheerfully greeted, “Good morning Ester!” 

“Hey who said you could greet her like that chihuahua?!”

Gritting my teeth I snapped back “Don’t call me that, I’m not a chihuahua!” It really made me mad whenever someone referred me to that tiny dog breed! “Good morning to you too Luke, don’t listen to them. I hope you enjoyed your long weekend,” I heard Ester sweetly say as I felt that bit of anger melt away as I couldn’t help but feel my cheeks grow warm while I continued to hug Ester which she returned and with one hand gently patted my hatted head. The conversation continued on for a while longer until class was to start.

Another day of classes went by as I walked through the hallways with Ester heading to our last class of the day together and to be quite honest my favorite time of the day where I didn’t have to worry about getting teased. And not only that I just get to spend time with the human I still swear is secretly an angel without the demon brothers being around. “Calculus was so bad today,” I whined as my brain just hurt looking at all those numbers that were on the board. “Yeah but it is getting close to finals so of course teachers are going to cram whatever they can get in before even getting to go over what we need to review,” Ester replied seeming to let out a small sigh; glancing up at her I could tell she must be feeling the stress, especially since she was going to be graded like the other demon students again. To think about it all and when we all finished it hurt the thought of going separate ways from Ester like the first semester; she’d go back to the human world in Greece to her normal life and family. Before I could get too lost in my saddening thoughts I snapped out of it when I noticed a random tall and muscular looking demon approaching.

“Hey there,” the demon said as he already had a smug look as I already didn’t like the fact he was staring at Ester with such a look in his eyes. “Ya know Bibi you’re pretty cute for a human, we should grab a bite sometime; ya know just us,” I heard the demon say using her middle name. I was already feeling myself get mad, how dare this fiendish being talk to her in such a manner! Hearing her small nervous laugh I saw the look of discomfort she had on her face but gave a small sheepish smile, she really was too pure for this world. “I uh- really appreciate it and flattered; however, I must apologize but I’m not interested... If you’d pardon us we were just heading to our last class,” she said being polite and turning for us to be on our way.

I was facing forward to be on our way but I turned when I heard a sudden gasp. The demon said in a snarl “It wasn’t a question whether you wanted to or not.” Feeling my eyes widen in shock for a moment I narrowed my glance to glare at the taller male. “Let go of Ester now! She said she wasn’t interested so learn to be more respectful,” I shouted, stepping closer as I couldn’t stand by and let her possibly get hurt. It was until the demon roughly shoved her to the ground as of course my instinct kicked in rushing to stand in front of her to shield her. “That’s enough! I won’t allow you to hurt her,” I yelled as by size I may not stand a chance, but I care too much to let anything bad happen to her. “No skin off my bones, I’ll burn you both to- ah hey put me down,” the demon started to say in a threatening manner until the student was suddenly pulled up in the air from the back of his uniform. Much to my relief it was Beel who showed up and boy does he not look happy. Taking the time I turned around and kneel down in front of Ester to make sure she wasn’t injured. 

“You didn’t get hurt did you, did you hurt your ankle when you fell,” I started asking worriedly about her. Giving one of her famous gentle smiles that made everything feel all better she shook her head in a no manner. “No I’m alright Luke, thank you for protecting me; I really appreciate it,” she answered as hearing her words of gratitude made my heart skip a beat and my cheeks grow warm. “B-But of course! It’s my job as an angel to protect humans from evil demons, and plus… I’d be really sad if you did get hurt,” I spoke, saying the last part more on the softer side. The warning bell rang which brought us back to our senses as the two of us rushed to get up and get to our class before we were late.

It was the night before the first day of final exams and I’ve been feeling rather down lately; the more the day I’d have to say goodbye to Ester grew closer the more I wished there was more time. As much fun as I did have with the demon brothers and Solomon I was going to miss Ester the most; I really loved Ester, but of course I could only assume she didn’t feel the same in fact she probably only ever saw me as a younger sibling or something even though never once did she treat me like a child. “Luke? Luke did you finish working on the equation,” I was brought back to reality by the sound of Ester’s voice. Blinking a couple of times before looking over to her I almost forgot what I was doing. “Oh yeah, sorry! Here you go,” I quickly said in a panic as I took my paper and handed it to her for her to check to see if I was right; Ester was kind enough to be studying and helping me prep for finals as we were in the living room. A couple of the other demon brothers were being strictly tutored by Satan… Again. Patiently waiting I watched as her warm cinnamon brown eyes scanned over the paper carefully before she turned looking to me and flashing a smile. “Great job! You’ve really improved, I think you’ll do really well on the exam for calculus,” she praised me and I could feel my stomach get that familiar fuzzy feeling as it made me smile because it was all thanks to all her hard work I managed to improve as much as I did. 

“I think that’s a good spot to stop at for now and take a break,” she said while starting to stretch out. Nodding in agreement I stretched my own arms out as we certainly had been studying for a while now. “I’ll go get us some tea and snacks,” I heard Ester say happily as she got up and started to head off to go to the kitchen. When it was just myself in the room I couldn’t help but let out the sigh I seemed to have been holding in. Once again my thoughts from earlier were invading my mind as that sinking feeling made me lean back into the couch and look down at my lap. The more my brain thought about upcoming events and whatnot I only felt more and more sad.

“Sorry I kept you waiting, I had to fend Beel off from the cookies while the tea was brewing,” I heard Ester’s voice and looked up to see her setting down a tray that had a plate of cookies, two cups along with the tea top along with sugar cubes and honey. “You don’t have to apologize Ester, the tea smells really good,” I said sitting up properly now as I always looked forward to her food; she was very skilled with her craft. “I made us lavender green tea, I put some extra lavender in it since last time I made it I didn’t put enough in to really be able to taste it,” she said while pouring the teas into the cups before handing me one, already the smell of it was relaxing. “Thank you,” I thanked her before softly blowing on it and taking a small sip. Our break continued in silence as I munched on a cookie, my brain still racing with thoughts that I wish would calm down. “Hey Luke… Is everything okay, you seem a little down,” I softly heard Ester ask out of the blue as of course I didn’t answer right away, I just stared down into my cup seeing my small reflection in the hot tea. “I’m sorry to have worried you… But truth be told I have been feeling really down lately,” I finally replied to her still not having it in me to look at her as I spoke, but I could feel her gentle concerned gaze on me. “It only seems like it was yesterday we all just got reunited but now we’re going to be parting our ways again,” I started voicing my thoughts as the more I thought about bringing up my feelings I could feel my heart pounding against my chest. 

“Yeah I get what you mean, it would certainly be nice if there was more time for all of us to spend more time together. Though there’s always finding the time to visit when we can,” she replied as slightly glancing over she must be feeling sad about leaving Devildom too and even Ester still finds some kind of positive side. “That’s true… But to be honest out of everyone I’m really going to miss you the most, Ester,” I said softly biting my lip out of nervousness. Taking a deep breather before she could say anything I found the courage to look up at her even though I felt my face already flaring up. “I always thought I admired you; you were always so kind and you never treated me as if I was a little kid. Everything we’ve been through together and all the fun times we’ve had I’ve learned a lot from you… And when I had looked back on everything from last semester I-I realized I didn’t admire you in the way I admire the archangels.” Her cinnamon brown eyes seemed to widen for a moment before they softened as she looked at me. 

“Truth is I love you Ester! I know that I didn’t have a chance with someone as beautiful and sweet as you because I look like a child and even can act like one at times I will admit so I did whatever I could to suppress those feelings… But I just couldn’t,” I continued as my face felt like it was on fire in which I looked down feeling a bit better getting that off my chest. There was only silence that lingered and I could only assume my assumption was true. “Regardless of how you look or how you act, you’re the Luke that’s always been so sweet and caring and fun to be around. There was a time when I was young when my parents would explain angels to me,” I looked up at her surprised when it seemed like she wasn’t bothered by the confession but it piqued my interest when bringing up her parents and the topic of angels so I carefully listened. Looking down at her tea with a reminiscent smile I heard her say, “They’d tell me angels were made to take the shape to best comfort those who’ve passed; some angels looked like familiar faces of a loved one that passed, or some would take a shape of a child to help the little kids who’ve passed so they knew they wouldn’t be alone and had a friend to play with in heaven.” Huh I never thought about it like that, in fact I never really thought about it at all, but hearing her say that somehow made me believe that maybe there still could be some sort of chance. 

“Will you wait for me,” I suddenly asked when the thought popped into my head and I looked into her eyes again. She tilted her head to the side, it was too cute. “What do you mean,” she asked, to which I replied instantly with “Wait for me to get taller… errr older I guess. I want to be the man that you can be proud of, but also I want to be able to protect you and give you the all love that you deserve and if I can’t fully provide like this then please wait for me to someday be your boyfriend!” It was like taking a shot in the dark, but regardless of what she answers I will grow to be an angel that she can be proud of. “Sure,” I heard her say as I couldn’t help but blink a couple of times. “R-Really,” I asked as it almost felt like a dream, I didn’t fall asleep while taking a break with her did I?! I heard those very giggles of hers I fell in love with as she gave a small nod. “Of course, I do care a lot about you Luke. So I can wait however long till we can be together,” she responded and I felt like I could cry tears of joy but I thought that urge so instead I put my cup down and hugged her; it was going to still be sad to part ways, but I know it won’t be the last we see of each other after here.

Two years have passed since we left Devilmon and I’ve finally accomplished my goal. Of course I’ve kept contact and talked to Ester over the phone so we were still connected but I still missed seeing her; until now that is. To think Michael gave me the duties to live among the humans in Greece; that couldn’t have been a coincidence and part of me has a hunch that Simeon had a hand to play in that, but regardless I’m honored for the role. I made my way to the place I last remembered she was living as not much has changed, it was still as beautiful as ever. Upon arriving at the house I walked up to the door holding the bouquet of flowers behind my back as I rang the doorbell with the other hand hearing the chime from within the house go off. Standing patiently I took a deep breath, I was actually a little nervous since this would be the first time in a long time that we’re seeing each other and I could only imagine how more beautiful Ester had grown. While straightening my uniform I suddenly heard a voice shout that they were coming soon followed by an unlocking sound.

~~~ Ester’s POV ~~~

It was a little crazy around the house as both my younger siblings were packing to move to their colleges and then I was also packing to finally move into my own place after so long searching for an affordable place that had its own little extra space to open my own little shop mix café. Hearing the doorbell I headed for the door while saying loudly that I was coming I didn’t know who’d be stopping by. “Hello welcome to the Barel- Oh my goodness Luke,” I started to greet whoever the person was but when I fully opened the door and got a look at the person my eyes widened in shock but of course recognizing who it was right away, how could I forget those blue eyes of his. He seemed to look at me surprised as well but soon smiled which of course I couldn’t help but smile as well before I tackled him into a hug. 

“Haha hello to you too Ester,” he said in a chuckle as he still sounded like his old self but more mature voice. Pulling away I felt my heart race as though I wasn’t even aware he was coming by for a visit, but it made me all the more happier. “You cut your hair,” I heard him comment as I felt his hand softly feel my hair. Letting out a small laugh I nodded in a yes manner. “Hey sis who’s at the door,” I heard my brother ask from within the house. “It’s a friend of mine, I-I’m gonna step out for a bit,” I called back before stepping out and closing the door behind me. When I turned around from the door I was greeted with the sight of a bouquet of flowers before hearing Luke say, “For you.” 

The gesture warmed my heart as I of course took them and smelled them. “You remembered, “ I said with a smile as though he’s certainly matured physically I could tell he hasn’t changed too much. “O-Of course I did, how could I forget… I could never forget the smile on your face whenever you saw them,” he answered while his face started growing red, he really was just too cute. Taking his hand gently I started to walk to take him to a nice quiet place where we could talk. It wasn’t too far from home but it was a nice little bridge when I stopped walking and looked at him, it almost didn’t feel real. “I-I didn’t get to say this yet but uh… You-you look as beautiful as ever Ester,” I heard him stutter over his own words a bit, but nonetheless I felt my heart skip a beat. “Thank you! You look amazing yourself, you look so handsome, even though back then you were still handsome in an adorable way,” I said though of course I couldn’t help but slightly tease him letting out a small giggle. “Hey there’s nothing adorable about being handsome… But it means a lot coming from you,” he said in that all too familiar defensive yet soft manner.

“So, you’re just here to visit or are you here on some angel business,” I curiously asked as just thinking about depending on how long he’ll be here for he would probably have to go back to the celestial realm and I felt my heart drop a bit. “Well yes I’m here on angel business; however, I’m here to stay,” I heard him explain I slightly tilted my head when he said here to stay. “Wh-what do you mean here to stay,” I asked as yes things have been going well since I’ve returned here, but on the days where it’s been rough I missed the days where Luke would come over and talk with me and comfort me back in the house of Lamentation. “Michael has assigned me to be one of the angels that live among the humans here to protect them, so I’ll be living here,” he further explained as remembering the promise I couldn’t help but smile as for some reason I felt tears start to lightly prickle my eyes. “Th-that makes me so happy, I… I really missed you Luke,” I said, feeling the tears rolling but in almost an instant I felt his larger hands already cupping my face clearing them away. “I hope those are happy tears, but regardless I always hated seeing you cry. I’m here and I can finally be the man that makes you happy Ester… Thank you for waiting for me,” he whispered softly, pressing his lips to my forehead before his face moved down closer to mine. Feeling my face grow hot, it seemed that his face was red too. Deciding to make the first move I leaned up and gave him a soft kiss before pulling away. 

“I-I love you Ester.” 

“I love you too”

Caught in the Middle

Pairing: Solomon X Ester X Asmodeus

Summary: Dating the human sorcerer was one thing, but having the avatar of lust’s constant flirting and advances was becoming a bit of an annoyance to Solomon. 

“Oh Ester you look so stunning today! I love what you did with your hair,” Asmodeus said in a flirtatious manner twirling a lock of pink around his finger. Resting my chin in the palm of my hand, it irks me to see the avatar of lust fawning over my girlfriend as even if it was expected of him there were times when the demon was pushing it. Watching them chat as the moment Asmodeus started hugging them and rubbed his face against hers was when I scoffed ever so lightly. 

“Excuse me but do I need to remind you who’s girlfriend you’re getting a bit too touchy with,” I said catching both of their attention as Asmodeus didn’t seem phased by it in fact the demon just started to smirk and continued with what he was doing. “Oh I’m sorry, did I make you jealous while I’m being more affectionate than you,” he teased, though it almost sounded like he was taunting me and honestly I was starting to question our friendship. It seemed that she caught on to the tension that was being created by the way she shifted away from him.

“H-Hey let's not start anything please,” Ester jumped into the conversation as she really didn’t like when friends argue or fight. Shuffling her way over to me, she must have thought she’d just sit in her spot next to me. “I still can’t see how you two are together,” Asmodeus said, only rolling my eyes at his comment. I carefully grabbed Ester and pulled her onto my lap resting my chin on her shoulder. “Because even though Ester’s an underrated witch, she’s my beloved underrated witch,” I simply replied in a teasing manner which I instantly got a response from her as she shifted slightly with this small glare and softly smacked me. “Even though you’re a complete pain in the ass, you’re my pain in the ass,” she said as I saw that small smile she had, causing me to chuckle and kiss her cheek. The bell rang signaling that classes were in session which I let Ester go letting her sit next to me as Asmodeus went off to his seat.

~~~ Later That Day ~~~

I was getting ready for my date with Ester, brushing my hair. I picked up my d.d.d to text her to make sure she was ready as I typed “Hey I’m going to be heading over soon I hope you’re ready” After hitting send I set it down briefly so I could finish fixing my hair. The vibrate of my device going off I picked it up to see what she said only to see it was Asmo who replied.

Asmo: I didn’t know you were coming over, where are we going???

Ah shit I texted our group chat instead of just my girlfriend. I saw the little dots showing someone was typing:

Ester: Yup! I’ll be ready by the time you’re here 🥰

Asmo: 😱

Asmo: You two are going out on a date?! And DIDN’T tell me!

Rolling my eyes did he always have to be this nosy. I ended up texting “We don’t have to tell you whenever we’re going out all the time.” Putting my device in my jacket pocket I set out as I should get over there before Asmodeus tries to cut in or try to tag along.

Thank god for magic as it definitely saved me some time as I was finally making my way up the steps to the front door of the house of Lamentation. The door opened as there was Satan as he opened it wider inviting me inside which I walked in thanking the avatar of wrath. “I’m assuming you’re here to see Ester; she’s in her room,” Satan said before walking off and I made my way to her room.  Giving a small wave to some of the other brothers I passed by I eventually got to my girlfriend’s room, I was going to knock but then I heard talking so I just stopped to listen for a moment.

“Bibi come on, can’t you guys have a stay at home date, we could watch movies together,” I heard Asmo’s voice as I gritted my teeth. “Asmo there are plenty of days where the three of us can hang out, but tonight’s just not one of them,” I heard her say and it brought a smile to my face. Deciding not to waste any more time I turned the knob and opened the door, inviting myself in. 

“Hey babe I’m here,” I said announcing my presence as I got to see she was beautifully dressed in a white halter top and a long harvest orange skirt with a small slit on the side. She jumped and looked over as I couldn’t help but chuckle as she really was so easy to startle; so cute. “I’m sorry did I keep you waiting,” she said with a small look of guilt and panic as I shook my head in a no manner before wrapping an arm around her waist holding her close. “Nah I thought I’d just come in and grab ya, you look great,” I said kissing her cheek as I saw the small glare Asmo had. “Well we should really get going, we’ll see ya later Asmo,” I said starting to leave the room with Ester by my side until Asmo stood in the doorway. 

“Awww you sure I can’t come with you guys?? It’ll be fun, just the three of us together! We’d be the best looking couple,” Asmo said, batting his eyes, causing me to let out a sigh as this wasn’t the first time he'd asked me if he could join our relationship. “This really isn’t a conversation for today, can’t we save it for another time,” I asked as I just wanted to have some alone time with her but apparently it was too much to ask for. “No because that’s what you’ve always said and before you two even started going out you knew exactly how I felt about her, yet still hogged her to yourself. I may care for you too but Ester is very… Special to me,” Asmo said with a small sad pout on his face as I hated it when he made that face, it always made me feel bad. 

Ester was silent but by the small glimpse of her face she had a guilty look on her face as her freckled shoulders slumped a tad. “.... If she accepts, will it make you stop,” I asked, letting out a small huff in defeat as if this just kept on going who knows how things would turn out. Ester slightly pulled away from me as her face was bright pink before I heard her stammer, “W-Wait accept what?” Walking to her in a small stride I watched as Asmo wrapped an arm around her waist and a big smile on his face before I heard him respond with “To accept me as your second boyfriend silly.” Walking over to join them I held her chin with my hand. Getting to witness her grow more and more red in the face was entertaining as her eyes looked at me and Asmo. 

“I-I...I mean you’re both really important to me and- I uh... umm- I suppose… It couldn’t hurt,” Ester answered slowly which Asmo smiled brightly immediately showering her in kisses. “This is probably the best day of my life~ You’re so cute when you make faces like that my dear Ester,” Asmo cooed, leave it to him to be the overly affectionate one, though going with it I chuckled. “Looks like you’re caught in the middle babe,” I said before joining in on showering our girlfriend in kisses; I couldn’t let him have all the fun. “You-You both are t-teases,” I heard her sweet voice only able to laugh a bit against the soft skin of her neck. Needless to say there was a change in plans as our dinner date turned to a private bedroom celebration and none of us were going to be getting any sleep tonight.

But BOI when he watches, he’s leaning back in his chair watching with a smug look on his face enjoying the view

Forbids her from dancing in front of his brothers because it’s “for his viewing only”

Probably ends up as a form of foreplay

Doesn’t believe at first and states how there’s no way she could actually belly dance

Seeing Ester belly dance for the first time he’s a BLUSHING MESS

You’d think he’d take this as an opportunity to make money right; wrong! He don’t want anyone seeing her dance like that even if there was the possibility of making big money from dance performances
