I don't think I've seen anyone mention this about Obsession:
When Bear first tries to break another One Wish Willow to make another wish, he says "I wish Nikki Freeman just loved me as a friend," which is still a remarkably selfish wish to make considering everything he'd put her through up to that point.
Even then, if him making a second wish somehow worked, Bear was STILL robbing Nikki of the choice to associate with him after assaulting her, neglecting her, and eventually driving her to murder a friend.
It's a lot like how he tries to alter the wish when he first called the number on the One Wish Willow box. He wasn't willing to fully give Nikki agency back. He still wanted to control her, just wanted MORE control over her, despite it seeming like he was trying to help her. Bear still wasn't willing to let Nikki decide how to feel about him on her own.
