You know, I really hate jokes about "how fast Demi Lovato dropped they/them pronouns" because like. A) they didn't. Demi has they/she listed on her social media pages. They still use they/them, and B) the reason they added she/her back and the reason you think Demi "dropped they/them" is because people are transphobic and exorsexist and never used their pronouns in the first place! It's literally because people were exorsexist to them.

But unironically I think there’s a chance for Togashi to make Killugon fully canon.

Hunter X Hunter already has bunch of LGBTQ+ themes and characters. And knowing how Hunter X Hunter fully inspired other implied gay ships in more recent shounen (Geto and Gojo off the top of my head) and knowing how recently Japan has become more progressive atleast when it comes to gay rights adding on how he’s one of the living fathers of manga? I honestly think he would fully make them canon.

I always feel so cheated in stories when characters are walking around with this Big Guilt and then...you find out that the thing wasn't their fault at all. And not in a "they thought they did it but it turns out they were set up" way, or even a "accepting that just because they did A which caused B which caused C it doesn't mean C was their fault", way but where they finally lay out the sequence of events and it's clear that any thinking person would not connect them. Like, fucking commit!!! The character isn't LESS compelling if they actually did the thing! You can't have the haunted brooding meow meow who is...also completely blameless

The character not actually being guilty can work IF the fact that they irrationally blame themselves for the Thing That Anyone With Eyes and a Brain Can See is Not Their Fault is in line with their character. Unfortunately a lot of writers just do it as a means of having a Angsty Mysterious character backstory without having to actually give the character any Flaws

This also applies to real people. Not every nonbinary person is transmasc or transfem. The gender binary not strictly applying is sort of...in the name.

Reading a book about the psychology of friendship (that, oh by the way, taps the ace and trans communities in its discussion not as clinical categories but by including anecdotes from people in those communities!!) and somehow it encouraged me to quadruple down on saying:

We literally do not have enough friendships. Our culture's obsession with romance over friendship is shockingly new (1850's on) and it is having a serious impact on our health across the board, specifically men. This problem has become sharply exacerbated in the last 20 years.

We need more friendships. We need more friendship in media. "But what if they kissed?" What if they didn't, and the love that was there mattered anyway??? Take my hand. Imagine this with me. A relationship unbound by law or expectation. People who choose one another again and again. To stay in each other's lives when there are no societal tethers holding them together.

I go by my given name/pronouns and I’m not vegan but I’m proud that I can provide this service

Is this a joke? because 20 minutes is about the amount of sun exposure you should ideally be getting UNPROTECTED to make Vitamin D if you’re light-skinned. If you’re darker-skinned you need more, maybe even up to an hour. And that’s midday sun. There is absolutely no reason to “protect” yourself from the sun early in the morning or in the evening. Letting early morning light hit your bare skin and eyes prepares your body for more intense sun exposure later in the day.

The sun’s rhythms govern all terrestrial life, and our bodies evolved to utilize its various wavelengths. Treating the sun as a deadly laser is about the worst thing you can do for your health.

Vivinos really saw how many people missed Alien Stage's critique of the k-pop idol industry and decided to dial it up to 50

Round One of the Zombie Stage Alnst AU is out, so here's my analysis:

Right off the bat we see that Mizi maintains her violent streak in this universe, as well as the guilt she feels over it and Sua's unwavering forgiveness. The rat parallels her relationship with Sua in the OG universe, how she "crushes" it and then instantly regrets it.

Then we see the two of them in school, it seems Mizi has a strong desire to be an idol while Sua appears to just be following her lead because she loves her (just like how in the OG universe, it was Mizi who wanted to be in Alien Stage and Sua just followed her lead to remain together).

During their audition, they agree to sign Mizi but not Sua, likely due to the fact that Mizi's body is more "mature" while Sua lacks both strong vocals and is more petite. (We also see that Zombie!Sua leans slightly more into looking flirty/cutesy than Human!Sua does in the audition) Mizi is clearly horrified that Sua is not also signed and actually appears reluctant to continue pursuing her dream without her, but Sua gives her blessing and Mizi becomes an idol.

Mizi's idol career is shown to rely heavily on the exploitation of her body, and we see the spark begin to fade from her eyes. At the same time, Zombie!Mizi is strapped to a wheel and has knives thrown at her, shattering her image, show how trapped Mizi felt within the industry to the point it broke her. We also see her score going up as this happens, the audience loving her performance the more she's placed in harm's way. We also see her begin to pull away from Sua. I don't think this seems entirely intentional on Mizi's part, it looks as if Sua showed up in the middle of a shoot and Mizi is too exhausted and frazzled to pay her attention and the assistant guy assumes she's just another fan and tosses the flowers, which clearly upsets Sua.

We then get a montage of auctioned body parts from the Zombie Stage performers: an arm from Minho, Kate's entire face, and Mizi's eyes. I am thinking Minho and Kate might be the two unnamed participants who go up against Till and Ivan in the OG universe. Mizi's eyes are specifically called "The Eyes of Love".

Mizi turns to unhealthy coping mechanisms like smoking and when Sua protests she lashes out, clearly at her snapping point. Sua forgives her like usual, and we actually see the spark return to Mizi's eyes when she hugs her despite her anger. However, she chooses to push her away, likely because she can't handle Sua trying to force her out of her dissociation and dissuade her from the dream she's given everything to. She seems to realize what she's doing and regrets it mid argument, in line with her pattern of violent outbursts, and runs away. A zombie follows her and bites her off-screen.

Then we get another Zombie Stage dance sequence, in which we see that Sua's eyes are always shifting to look at Mizi, even as a zombie. This transitions into Sua finding Zombie!Mizi and realizing that this is the way they can finally be together forever. I think Sua has come to think that the only way she can love Mizi is as her fan, and so she has fallen into the objectification of Mizi's body that all her fans share, as well as Mizi's "death" twisting her obsessive need to be with her into this desperate act of letting herself be bitten.

We get a flashback to Mizi and Sua, with Mizi holding on to Sua's hand in contrast with Sua clinging to Mizi's hand which doesn't hold her's back, as she's too concerned with the crowd. We also see that Sua's eyes never held the spark Mizi's did. Sua loses and has her arm cut off to be auctioned.

Finally we see the love of my life Hyuna watching the performance in horror, surrounded by salivating fans. The last shots are of Ivan, who has killed a rat in similar fashion to Mizi, which may mean that their violent tendencies are meant to be parallel and/or that Round 2 will show Ivan's exploitation in a similar fashion to Mizi's.

In conclusion: Fuck the idol industry, send your kids to therapy
