"The customer is always right"
wrong: The customer is literally always correct, in factual matters, and cannot be disputed. correct: The customer is always right in matters of taste. If they're here to spend money and want to buy the ugliest thing you've ever seen, you must not argue them about it. correctest: In every person there are two souls locked in eternal combat - one is the disciplined, good-willed, and financially responsible one, and the other one is The Customer, who will always yearn to buy some stupid shit. Your job is to side with The Customer, and do your best Emperor Palpatine "do it" to persuade them.
The question only remains whether u, the worker, feel like it's worth putting in the energy into convincing the customer to buy more stupid shit when u already know that because the customer already entered the shop with the goal of buying something, they will buy something in the end regardless of whether u do anything or not and if they're just browsing no rhyme or reason will convince them anyways but their own.
The answer to that question depends on the variables of how much u get paid, how much ur manager gives a fuck and whether u personally give a fuck either regardless of the other two factors.
I think the biggest question is whether you find such an activity enjoyable. If you're stuck there for eight hours anyway, and you'll get assigned a task if you're spotted not looking busy, might as well start herding customers wherever you want them to go like a sheepdog.
Too true, although it often also depends on the customer culture, whether u as the retail worker find herding them enjoyable. I work in Germany. Most Germans, unless they are very wealthy and even then anyways, do not enjoy being talked at while they shop for their stupid shit. It makes u, the retail worker, often feel as if asking what they're looking for is a hate crime (overdramatized, but they will give u the most Judgemental glare for daring to open ur mouth and butt into their shopping).
But as you said, might as well look busy so u don't have to re-sort the shelves for the millionth time. So, I personally prefer to make small talk and just find stuff out from customers that look interesting. Does that sound like hell for introverts? Yes. You don't have to do that. But you do have to talk to them anyways and I prefer to do so without being glared at. So far, I keep a tally on from which country customers come from, as I work in a designer outlet in fuckass nowhere (from near big Cities, Denmark and India for some reason are typical replies, Japan, China and Ghana were the most unique ones until now), jobs (nurse, who loudly agreed we shouldnt go to work sick, alt punk tattoo artist that was looking for a pink wrist band for his watch) and funny little interactions (And I quote: "Im looking for a gift for somebody I hate. Which watch would you recommend?" or the time two ladies tried to switch watches from a set for couples so they could buy only the ones meant for the woman. After being caught they ended up buying two sets anyways or the way little kids all without fail lay down on the little ledge under the display table as if its a mattress).
Another fav way to seem busy and start interacting with people is compliments. It makes people feel good about themselves and I always try to find something in their style that I find cool in some way-
Especially elder women get excited and flattered about it, it's so cute. Makes the workday truly bearable.

yeah that's right, rocky full sentences time.
i also need you all to know the actual translation of "pebble" isnt like the small rock pebble, it does literally translate to "baby" and simon would hear it as "baby". i wrote "pebble" because grace translated eridian babies as "pebbles" for his own amusement. therefore: you, the viewer, get the grace terminology.

guess who's baaaccckkkk (its been like barely any time lol).
anyway, for some clarification, I put the events of Iron Lung in 379 eic. its never specified in the film (or the game? not sure about that one) what year it is, so i made it 379 eic of rvarious timeline purposes that will be revealed later. Simon also told them this year in the previous page, if that wasn't clear. i just felt that he wouldnt mention it in the journal cuz like. he already knows the year, he's not gonna write it down.

A little white lie 💚
My contribution to Ribbit's and Ragatha's relationship.
Believe it or not I've been working on this comic for months now but only had the time and patience to finish it now.
Rest assured that whenever Ragatha doesn't get enough attention, I will make it my mission to make her shine.
It's just a little funny interaction I had in mind.. tho I'm sure Ragatha had a hard time keeping up her smile when her friend abstracted.
I just thought about the old group playing card games and Jax being the sorest of losers about it
Contact established with the Iron Lung.
Is he deadass, question?
I couldn't leave my bf to himself in the sea of Bloodymary. Now I can draw them being gay.
