Moon Phases in Hoodoo
It’s really common to see modern witchcraft correspondences for the moon phases, but rarely or never for hoodoo. Frequently the full moon is associated with “light magic” and the new moon with “dark magic” using the classic racist terminology we’re all too familiar with. We also live in a world where books on working the roots that are actually written by black authors are a somewhat rare find, and Lucky Mojo is one of the first Google hits for almost every hoodoo-related search you might make.
So, Spirit Roots presents… the moon phases for root workers! An Africana guide to the lunar cycle. Remember, you don’t have to cast the “right” spell at the “right” time, it’s just a useful boost to follow the moon’s patterns when it feels right to do so or works for your path. Listen to your ancestors, and trust your intuition on it!

10 REASONS WHY WE SHOULD SUPPORT BLACK OWNED BUSINESSES
The profits from our spending help the community where we live.
We build for ourselves instead of helping other races to build where they get all the benefits.
It creates jobs for our people so we don’t have to picket for them.
Spending all your money with people who live out of your community is like building a house on sinking sand.
Business profits leaving the Community hurts the Black Churches, Children’s future, needy, sick, Civic Clubs, and keeps the whole Black Community in poverty.
Black people can never solve their economic problems while sending all of their money out of the community as fast as they earn it.
Black owned Businesses can not succeed without the help of the Black Population.
The race who does not build is always controlled by those who do.
The future of the Black race will not be built on what we make others do for us, but instead on what we do for ourselves.
Most people in the Black Community who spend their money with the big, white chain stores usually go to the little Black Owned Business when they need help….
