@valliente:
She was already sticking some food in her mouth by time he started talking. Glancing up at him again, she watched the musician for a moment or two. It seemed genuine enough, there didn’t seem to be any kind of hidden motive behind it.
Which was a good thing. But it was also really surprising.
Slowly, she finished chewing, deciding it would be polite to answer him besides just eating the food without saying anything. “This is really good. Thanks!” She even aimed a friendly smile towards him before it slowly fell, “Ah. But I didn’t get you anything.
“--Huh?”
Kirito had been distracted for a few seconds, for he’d been watching her eat. For one he was content that she seemed to be enjoying the food he’d gotten for her, and as for the other reason, well, she looked pretty damn cute when she smiled up at him like that.
“It’s not a problem, really. I did this without expecting anything in return.” His answer was completely honest; in fact, that hadn’t been a thought that’d occurred to him when he first conceived the idea of giving this to her. “And you don’t have to get me anything either. As long as you like the food, that’s enough for me.”

At first, she was rather confused as to where he was taking this small story. She didn’t interrupt though. Nagisa wasn’t the person to speak over someone else, after all. But he was right–not a lot of guys made it to six feet in Japan, and usually when they did, they would be given odd looks. Her own father wasn’t much taller than her, and she’d only met a handful of men that were about the same height of the person in front of her.
When he finished his story, though, she was left staring up at him in obvious surprise before a large flush took over her features. This guy really reminded her of Aric in some ways.
“Oh! I’m sorry…Di-Did you get in trouble for it?”
Kirito watched as her expression went from understandably puzzled to being almost as flustered as that woman he’d brought up had been. Was it because he mentioned the woman’s breasts? She did seem to be the ditzy, innocent type. Not that that would stop him from saying whatever he wanted to say. It was too much work to actively try to censor himself after all.
“Nah, I didn’t get in trouble for it. The lady just slapped me with her bag and moved to a different part so she wouldn’t be close to me. Guess I don’t really blame her since there are creeps everywhere who tend to do that sorta thing.”
“Honestly, I’d be lying if I said yes. But I’m pretty sure that’s what it is.” Toru only said it just so there would be something to actually say after the kiss. “Hopefully though since I could use the good luck too,” he laughed.
“Although kissing you was probably counterproductive for good luck.”
“Well, whatever it might be, I’ll take it. We gotta take our opportunities where we can, right?” A smirk graced his lips, even after the other’s final comment. “And is that so? I’d think that someone getting a kiss from me would only be getting double the luck than they’d get from kissing anyone else.”
Well, that was awfully nice of him. Not that Midori was going to take of the offer, but it was kind all the same. She cut him off in mid-sentence though, pushing a lock of hair behind her ear as she turned to Kirito once more. “I’m sure.”
“I have enough to pay.” It’d been awhile since she last let a guy treat her, and she wasn’t about to break the good habit of paying for herself. “Thanks for the offer, though.” Kirito was much taller than her, in the end, so she made sure to keep up–though, unlike usual, he stayed in step with her. “So,” Midori began casually, sticking her hands behind her back, “how’s the band thing going?”
If she was going to walk with him, she might as well make small talk.
Midori seemed awfully persistent on the idea of paying for herself, which he assumed could only mean she didn’t want to feel as though she owed him for anything. That, or it was just a matter of pride, though somehow he had his doubts about it being the latter. He didn’t mind if that was what she wanted, even though he wanted to treat her, Kirito just wanted her to keep her content. He was doing well so far and didn’t want to ruin it suddenly with something stupid.
“Alright. Then we’ll split the bill.”
“But the band’s been doing pretty well. I’ve noticed there’s been more people at our shows now, so that’s always a good sign.” And a good motivator above all to keep doing what he’s been doing with his band. “We actually have a show this week on Friday at that bar downtown called Anarchy. You’ve heard of it, right? It starts at nine. You should come see us if you can.” Kirito had them make a turn at the upcoming street, making sure they were on the right path to the restaurant before starting up again.
“What about your dancing stuff?”
There it was again. Was that his new nickname or something? Whatever it was, it was annoying as hell. Especially coming from this guy. Immediately, his expression shifted to one of annoyance as he glowered at the taller male. Sho was typically accustomed to looking down on people so Kirito’s height only irritated him further.
“Stop calling me that. It’s immature and annoying.” How would he like it if he called him music nerd? Probably enjoy it.
Kirito took a step back and laughed, clearly amused with the reaction he was eliciting from the other. It’s not like he was doing anything bad, really. He was joking around for the most part, and it wasn’t his fault that Sho was taking it way too seriously. Though if he didn’t, that would certainly take away the fun in this.
“Annoying? Maybe. But immature? I wouldn’t go as far as calling it that. I’m sure I can come up with a handful of things that are much more immature.”
It was expected, to say the least. Toru knew Kirito well enough to anticipate the kiss, especially given the occasion. Therefore he didn’t resist, one could even say that he reciprocated the action. His lips accepting the others wholly. It was the new year after all, why not indulge…
“I guess this means we’ll both have good luck now.” Came his entertained reply.
“Is that what they say?” He asked, only really remembering that kissing seemed to be the tradition for certain people during this day. “I’ve never heard of that, but if it’s what it is, then it’s a good thing. I’m gonna need that good luck.”
happy new year, Murakawa ~B( may our bonds become stronger this year
“You want one too, don’t you?” Hayate probably had no idea what he was talking about. It’s not like he had been around earlier. Either way, Kirito was feeling pretty generous today.
“Happy New Years.” He’d say, just before giving him a kiss just like Toru’s.
happy new years B))))))
Kirito would grab the other firmly by the shirt, pull him over, and close the space between them with a kiss. And it wasn’t just some quick ordinary kiss either; he made sure he got the best of this short moment. When he would break the kiss, he’d look at Toru with a smirk.
“Happy New Years to you too.”
gives a flower. reluctantly. very reluctantly. don't screw this up kirito.
