The advantage, it turns out, of attending a Do Nothing Club, is that the experience is the same whether the session is cancelled or not.
Whenever I see an excellent meme, I think of you and am reminded that you don't think of me.
If you are facing an emergency, then by all means fight that emergency. If you are not facing an emergency, then fight for proportional representation. Our voting system is the root cause of so many problems and we need to join the modern world by changing it.
This is the energy that Ape Out captures. Just with more jazz .
It seems to me that the only reasonable way to think about Donald Trump is that he is a virus in human form. Not in the sense that he spreads and infects but in the sense that he is a rapidly evolving organism with a single purpose which is some frustratingly ugly sense of success.
A virus that pokes and prods the world around it to find weaknesses to exploit. Each prod and poke and action creates a reaction that it learns from and then coldly deploys its learnings towards success. The reactions it experiences are shaped by white privilege, by the patriarchy, by the ridiculous plot armor of being rich. The learnings it deploys are done without care for consistency, morals or shame. It lives. It evolves its behaviour day by day and it has found every available crack in our deeply flawed system to crawl its way to some definition of the top of the game. It is winning. It is impossible to tell if it is happy but it is winning.
Have we considered a regulation where all gig economy apps have to explicitly state the split between the worker and platform at every point of payment? This seems like it might be good.
I had an odd experience of setting up my laptop without my weird split keyboard in a new location and just completely blanking on my login password. So I connected up my keyboard, settled my hands on the keys and watched as they typed out my password and I tried to glean what it was. "Go, my fingers", I whispered, reveal my secrets to me. And bless them, they did.
I don't generally spend my time seeking out adverts but some part of me adores this.
piracy isnt theft but i wish it was. i wish i could download a disney movie and then they dont have it anymore

It was the building codes that really got me in the end. When the superheroes showed up. It was an interesting challenge at first. You had to be able to catch any building at any point and have it hold together. "Superman can't save lives if the building just crumbles around him." That's what they said. Got pretty pricey, mind you. More or less just pure steel these days. We paint the brick texture on. Nothing else works. It wish they sent some super concrete with him from whats-that-planet. Would have solved some problems.
The risk profile of cycling is much closer to the risk profile of a pedestrian than that of a car driver, so the behaviour and adherence to the rules of the road can understandably closer to that of a pedestrian than that of car. Cycling on pavements is crazy though. Mostly.
