Princess Rain was always cared for by his two dedicated knights: Moonlight and Constantine. The only problem was they had taken the king's orders to protect his heir very seriously and very differently.

Moonlight stood at Rain's side protectively every hour of the day from when the Princess woke up to when his head hit silky sheets. He refused to be more than a few meters away from the princess unless he was ordered to leave. Even then, he was only at the door.

But John's methods were... unorthodox.

John preferred to keep his distance, for the most part. While Moonlight kept an eye on threats up close and personal to Princess Rainy Rain, John went snooping like a right nosy parker to squash plots before they even had a chance to be fully formed.

He thought Moonlight had a giant, thick old stick shoved right up his arse from day one, and while John hadn't initially wanted to fight, he delighted a bit too much in making Moonlight squirm, teasing and mocking him whenever he saw an opportunity for it.

So, it shouldn't have been so surprising to find the pair bickering outside Rain's chambers as the princess slept. Moonlight thought John was rude and reckless. Sure, it was good to snipe down a problem before it made itself known, but his methods were unfavorable.

"Would you please stop touching me?" Moonlight snapped after the fifth nudge against his armour. He tried to keep his composure and ignore it, but there was only so much a knight could take!

"Musta been the wind." He smirked, smug as ever that he got Moony to break.
