A bride has so many things to keep in mind for the wedding, and by makeup tips, I mean the steps to follow for the bride for her big day. There’s no harm in following a few tips for your perfect wedding makeup.
Makeup tips for a bride
· Take the climate into consideration, during summers you tend to get sweaty and have oily skin. You should use products that are oil-free, keep an oil-free blotting paper in hand to take out all that excess oil from your face. A great tip is to rub ice on your bare skin after you’ve cleansed it, it will close all the open pores which will prevent your skin from sweating.
· There are cameras focused at you all the time, put a little more makeup for that perfect photo since there will be lights it will show every part of your face especially if there are any blemishes.
· Cleanse your face nicely and always moisturise it before applying anything on your face.
· The first step after cleansing is putting on the primer. It will make your makeup stay longer and will be smoother. You will be having a long day; you would want your makeup to stay and not wear off.
· The next is the foundation, apply the foundation with a brush or a beauty blender and not with your hand. The lesser use of fingers the better the finish since fingers tend to spread bacteria on your face and also fingerprints. You should know the products that agree with your skin, make sure to tell the makeup artist about specific products that you are allergic of which doesn’t agree with your skin. You should know your skin type and colour.
· The concealer or colour corrector is to be used after applying the foundation. The concealer hides the dark circles around the eye and the colour corrector hide all the redness and blemishes on your skin.
· After you do your base, go for your eyes. For your eyes, you should also use a primer so that eyeshadow stays. After applying the eye primer, you can do your eye makeup. The eye makeup or colour should be according to your wedding gown or dress.
· A little blush does not harm especially for a bride since that enhances those cheeks. The apple of the cheek should pop on your face.
· The eyebrow frames your eye, use an eyebrow pencil to mount them.
· Highlighter: It is to be used to show those or enlighten those highlighting points of the face. Always apply powder highlighter on your points as it looks more good and shinier in photos.
· Use an eyelash curler to make that long natural eyelash before you apply mascara to it, in case you don’t want to use fake eyelashes.
· Don’t go too overboard with your lips, swatch before you use to see if it fits the look of yours and doesn’t look too loud for your face or look.
· Keep a backup bag of makeup for a touch up when you feel you need it.
