Biography: Eloise, born in 1680, comes from a line of woodcarvers. Her family was the only woodcarvers in her remote village in France, by the Mediterranean Sea; just like their ancestors before them and so on and so forth. She was the youngest out of the five DeBois children and her childhood was filled with love and the company of her family. Years later a man named Bastian asked her father his permission for her hand in marriage, but Eloise was reluctant to marry Bastian because she didnât feel anything for the man, or any man in general. Despite her feelings, her parents arranged the marriage and Eloise respected their wishes. She and Bastian were wed shortly after her 18th birthday.
Two years later, 1700, pirates came to raid the village and began an onslaught. She was split from her family and was taken back to the ship with other women. Eloise quickly escaped and thought she was safe when a knife was at her throat. She was surprised to find that it was a woman pirate, but soon her fear rose as the pirate told her that she was giving her a mercy; saving her from the cruelty of her fellow pirates. The knife was soon replaced with a flintlock pistol her temple and the last thing she heard was a gunshot.
Eloise didnât realize how much time had passed once she awoke from the bottom of the sea. She was scared to find water and fishes surrounding her, but nothing surprised her more than to find her lower body transformed into a tail. When she resurfaced her heart shattered at the sight of her village, her home all but destroyed and burnt to the ground. No sooner than later did Chronos found her and explained to her about her heritage. Feeling the grief and anger taking over her, she had only one thing set in her mind: to track down her murder. She drowned the woman who took her life. After her rage subdued, an emptiness filled her soul and accepted the fact that killing the pirate would not bring her loved ones back to life. And so she retreated back into the comforts of the seas, where she began her eternity as an immortal mermaid.
Personality:Years of isolation had formed her into a reclusive creature. Eloise is cautious and hesitant around humans and immortals alike. The only time sheâs carefree and alive is when sheâs in the ocean. Do not test her, or she will become the cold and heartless creature that killed without a thought. Keeping true to her neutrality, she seldom involves herself with humans and stays on the sidelines. She is by no other means shy, but she wouldnât be the one to start a conversation. You would need to earn her trust before she deems you no harm and maybe, and that a big maybe, she will warm up to people.
Possible or Current Relationships: Eloise does not have many relationships, rather has acquaintances with some, for she spends her years swimming in the seas. Her only close and dear friend is Katya Jordans. She is rather afraid of forming an intimate relationship, after the death of her loved ones, and will struggle if one is being made.
