Sree Bhagautee jee sahaae. (at Takhat Sachkhand Shri Hazur Sahib, Nanded)
Come back my soul, how much longer will you linger in the garden of deceit? I have sent you a hundred messages I have shown you a hundred ways either you never read them or you ignore my advice. Come back my soul, do not waste time with the cold-hearted they do not know your worth. Why do you seek water when you are the stream? Have you forgotten? You are the king’s falcon, you are a ray Of the Beloved, a divine wonder!
Rumi (via queenofbirds)
The Cataka bird is a kind of bird that drinks only rain water from above. This class of bird is always looking high in the sky for rain drops to fall. There may be much water available here on the ground, but this bird will not take a drop. They are waiting for that rain water which comes from above. Sufficient rain water may come, or thunder may come, but still they will not take a single drop from the earth.

Bhai Gurdaas–Kabitt 437 Saying, “Sugar, sugar,” the tongue doesn’t taste sweetness; saying, “Fire, fire,” shivering does not cease. Saying, “Doctor, doctor,” does not cure diseases of any kind; saying, “Money, money,” doesn’t give you wealth to enjoy. Saying, “Chandan, Chandan [sandalwood],” doesn’t create fragrance; saying, “Moon, moon,” doesn’t create the radiance of moonlight. Similarly, simply speaking about spiritual philosophies doesn’t cause you to achieve a spiritual lifestyle. Enacting them is fundamental; then the light is manifested in the sky [complete spirituality is reached]. (via spcolor)

Can you remember who you were, before the world told you who you should be?

How can I know You when You are the Inwardly Hidden who is not known? How can I not know You when You are the Outwardly Manifest, making Yourself known to me in every thing?
Sunday morning prayer from Ibn ‘Arabi's Awrad (The Seven Days of the Heart) (via tajidar)
Shut your eyes so the heart may become your eye and with that vision look upon another world
