Run Boy Run | Pippa & Owen
“Aww, man, you know, I gotta go to work,” Will was saying, glancing at his hands. His tone was apologetic, but he was making the sort of face people make who are trying very hard to be polite.
Pippa bit her bottom lip. “Well, is there anyone else who might want to exercise with me? I see another car in the driveway,” she added, pointing towards the vehicle in question.
Will shot a glance towards it with a dry chuckle. “Yeah, that’s Owen’s. I gotta tell you straight, sweetheart, the sight of all this stuff would set Owen to running.” He gestured towards Pippa’s car, which was chock full of pink, specialty exercise equipment.
“Oh, he’s a runner?” asked Pippa.
Will, who was already in the process of getting into his trunk, turned. “Huh? Oh, yeah. Can’t get him to stay in one place too long when you’re threatening that kind of thing.”
Pippa smiled brightly. “I understand that.”
Casting a dubious glance towards her supplies again, Will arched his brows. “You do?”
“I mean...when you get the urge, you just...You have to follow your heart.”
Will’s brow furrowed with confusion. “Uhh, yeah. Right.” He nodded slowly and Pippa wondered what on earth could be so confusing. “Ok, well, see ya round, Pip,” he said, closing the door of his white truck (complete with a Year Round insignia) and starting the engine.
As he pulled out of the driveway, Pippa walked up to the door and knocked. As soon as someone answered, she smiled brightly and began. “Your brother told me you’d like to go for a run!”
