Spent a whole day trying to fix my 1/350 scale model of Ingenieur Minard after a touch-up mishap. Port side stanchions broke due to the fragility and nature of resin. Had to scratch built new ones with plastic sprues and replace them. I guess it's not too bad... oh well.
The aft end deck of HMHS Britannic in 1/700 from Hobby Boss doesn't come with stanchions to grace the bottom of the raised poop deck. So I found an easy solution by using some old plastic railings from a 1/350 Titanic build, cut them to fit, sand and glue them in place.

Spent an hour and a half trying to scratch built these frames over the forward and aft well decks of my 1/700 scale HMHS Britannic. I forgot what were they called...but at least they are on the model!

HMHS Britannic in 1/700 scale from Hobby Boss build completed. The only thing I digitally edit in the photo is the serial number plaque, under the bridge windows. (Will add a decal once its ready) Weird that HB provided Olympic's but not for this model kit. Another thing I wished they have revised is the decals for the ship's name. It's in yellow, and barely visible on a white hull. If you build the RMS version, it'll come in handy. Hospital ship version...not so much.

Final post on the 1/600 scale RMS Titanic from the very very cheap model kit from Mini Hobby Models.
I drilled most of the portholes and threw in a battery pack of led lights inside her. Painted her in a more whimsical palette of colors for her wooden decks, hull and superstructure. But from these photos, she can be a decent ship-shape model for display or as a controversial toy submarine, a wreck diorama, but museum quality and rivet-counter worthy she's not.
My curiosity on this model kit is sated, I shall move on to a more serious build with Britannic from Hobby Boss.
Edit: I forgot to mention, I did use a couple of extra spare parts from my Hobby Boss Olympic and Titanic builds to add more details on the model. The other thing I didn't do is steam pipes behind the 3rd class funnels and just keep it blank as it is.
I am back with an update on this 1/600 scale Titanic model kit from Mini Hobby Models. I did some assessment on the molds and part, they really are a scaled down 1/350 Minicraft kit.
However they also translate the issues of that old kit here as well especially with the raised roof of the First Class Lounge and some of the deck houses having trouble fitting them well onto the Boat Deck.
Initial dry fitting is promising here in these photos and I'm still refining the propeller shaft and rudder the best I can. Till the next build update
I got myself a 1/600 scale Titanic model kit from Mini Hobby Models, because out of curiosity and second, coz it's very very cheap.
So what I can deduced is that this model kit is a shrunk down version of Academy/Minicraft 1/350 (not to be confused with the Revell 1/570, because they have that too, in 1/550 scale that is also a rip off of Hobby Boss's version as well). Why I say that, it's because their deck houses have windows unlike the 1/550 that is void with them.
The B deck windows are more cleaner and accurate enough compared to the 1/550 Hobby Boss kit but they suffer the same error for their central propeller shaft because it's intended to be converted into an RC model. I think I can fix that gap to its correct size.
Otherwise, it's a pretty good and cheap model kit to get and mess with, if you wanna practice your skill sets.
