Learning to confront some things about myself that are unhealthy because there is literally nothing I can do about it anyway and the times in the past I was hammer taught that I had to, in fact, do something about it was toxic and maybe even emotionally abusive

I can't. Fix things between friends I have. I can't make them feel better. It is not my responsibility and me butting in literally does nothing because the problem doesn't exist between me and the others it's between them. I can support on the sideline but I can't fix it. The unhealthy part of my brain is convinced I can because I dislike conflict and I'm scared of things changing because what if the thing doesn't get fixed or resolved. I can't force it to be fixed. If things fall apart then that's what happens and I can't glue a glass vase back together and call it the same vase
