Hello whoever may be reading this!!!
if you just encountered this random post, I am making a web project by the name of Flashback Mystery (FBM) and this is our progress so far.
a bit long so TL;DR: FBM is becoming a comic, read the whole thing if you want to know more.
the OST is basically kind of complete, however I must be honest; the game itself is no where being finished.
I am not a programmer, I have no experience but tutorials giving me "training wheels", however I sometimes experiment with what I can do in Godot (our game engine)
it's not difficult when you're only making a visual novel, but it kind of made me lose motivation, since I'm not used to this form of art, nor do I wish to be considered a "game dev" by making this low-effort game.
originally, this game was going to be a show! however one day me and Lio (the game's main music composer) were joking about making it a game, and I decided, "hey let's take the joke a bit too far" and I decided to make a concept game menu, it wasn't editing or anything! it was an actual game.. without the game part, it was only a menu, lol.
and then I was like, "hey what if I did make this a game" and you can figure out the rest.
so yeah, I don't have enough experience, and if my first game is this long, it'd take too long to make just figuring out how to do things. I kind of wished I made a smaller game first, I didn't know I'd expand FBM this much.
and honestly? I was gonna make this an RPG! to appeal to the right audience, but I wanted to tell a story, not make a game.
so? visual novels! uhm, no, I don't want Lee to be a "self-insert" of the player.
so? comics.
comics!
we're making this a comic!!!
are we going to ever make it a game after the comic? possibly no, I already explained why this "game" can't work as a game, it's meant to be a story. however it'd be reallllly funny if someone were to make a fangame.. someone please do that, I'd totally play it!
is the comic releasing soon? nope, script first.
alsooooo
new logo design! designed by me, not much to say anymore, so that's about it.
