“Supernatural events,” she echoed, taken aback and amused at the same time.
Had she considered the idea of the supernatural before? Sure. Did she really believe in it? No. If people who had unfinished business stayed behind, she would have seen her father already. And she had not. Ergo…
But the proposition was still an interesting one. The YouTube aspect, really. Business was slow on the PI side and she needed some free advertising. Plus, she was running low on books from her “to be read” list to read while whiling away the hours in near-silence. She could use something to do, people to see.
But she really, really did not want to do it for free.
“What if I don’t need to prove myself? What if I’m doing just fine with my new business?” she questioned. She wasn’t, but he didn’t know that.
“I do typically have a fee. One that doesn’t have a student discount. I have a seventeen year old boy to feed and lights to keep on. If you can offer something, give me a date and time and I’ll be there. But also… you do know that I don’t actually go to this school, right? Pretty sure that’s a prerequisite for any legitimate membership.”

“If you need to be paid I got you,” he said with ease. Oz had money, not a lot of it but he worked pretty decent hours as a youth soccer coach and, well, his mom had left a hefty life insurance. They still hadn’t proved she was dead but it was missing for a certain amount of years that let the policy come into affect. Normally his sister was stingy about how they used it, but she didn’t have to know about this.
“How much is your fee, typically? Consider it done. We need some help and I’m willing to bet you need it too. Think of it as publicity for you business. We get some relatively decent traction.”
Oz was shopping to convince her that it was worthwhile to be part of their little team. Having a PI could add some much needed legitimacy to the adventure.
“As far as legitimate membership, well, I think that can be arranged. You did go here once, right? I think we could make it work.”
“So what do you say? Are you willing to do a little digging?”
