harvest - what fictional character do you most identify with? Why? fireside - if you had your dream wardrobe, what would it look like?

I think I'd tentatively say... Dina Saruyama from Dumbing of Age? Her particular brand of autism is pretty relatable. Also, to a lesser extent, her approach to sex. If I limit myself to Parahumans characters then probbbbbably Sabah? Lily and Kenzie are contenders as well.

The second question is easy: my dream wardrobe would be somebody else's skin. Like, metaphorically, not literally wearing their skin. But I guess to actually answer the question, in a perfect world where I could do so without reading as a guy, I would dress a lot more butch. Well, when dressing up anyway; I'm very fond of dresses as casualwear.

it's simple really: october is for horror movies with highly stylized villains and iconic monsters because they make for good costumes. early november is for gothic horror because of the fog and decay etc. late november is for zombies (commentary on consumerist culture). december is for psychological horror and stuff where they're trapped in a room because that's when you have to go to holiday parties with your family.

january is for possession and body horror (the loss of control and transformation of a new year beginning plus toxic diet culture). february is valentine's day so you can do whatever as long as you're horny about it.

march is for religious/cult-themed horror because of lent and easter. obviously april is giallo because the blood splatter represents spring rainfall. needs no explanation

may is for cannibalism and horror comedy (taurus season)

Bringing this over from discord and cleaning it up a little:

Thinking about how S9!Lily might come about. If things went a little differently after she triggered, she might've ended up killing someone pretty early on and decided that the Wards would never take her. So she starts doing the mercenary thing with Homer until he gets killed. Then May comes back to town, newly insane, and starts really aggressively going after Lily. So between that and her getting more and more heat from killing people as a mercenary, she realizes that she's gonna end up dead before too long one way or another, and she still kinda wants to be a hero, so might as well go out in a blaze of glory taking down the worst villains. Then the S9 come to town, and she's like "perfect, I'll kill the Siberian and Shatterbird and cripple the Nine!" So she tracks them down, kills Hatchet Face, kills Shatterbird, destroys the Siberian, but then the Siberian just turns up again a minute later and the Nine capture her. So she goes "welp, at least I got Shatterbird. Guess you're gonna kill me now, huh?" And Jack is like "actually, we're suddenly in the market for a couple new members, and you seem a little crazy! Welcome to the Slaughterhouse Nine!" They put her through all the trials and eventually she breaks down and joins, because she doesn't really want to die. She rationalizes it to herself by saying it's not like she'll ever do as much damage as Shatterbird, so really she's still done net good in the world, and this way March will definitely stay from her, and this is like 2008 so Riley isn't quite the Bonesaw we see in canon yet, so Lily's like "this kid could really use someone who's not a serial killer as a positive role model" (and proceeds to become a serial killer (well, technically she already kinda was, as a mercenary)). As she gets more and more resigned to being a mass murderer, the cluster bleed means she probably gets (or gets back) a lot of her and May's worst traits, so May probably chills out somewhat. This whole thought was inspired by the idea that Lily's power would be really good for crucifying people.

An intriguing idea! I think it really depends on when in the timeline this occurs and if May has seen beyond the veil.

Jan was a parahumans studies student so it's possible to have May and Jan meeting Victoria through that.

If it's post Jan's death then May would know about shardspace for good and for ill.

Extremely funny to think of May bouncing around between nerdy girls and finding a new one when the previous dies. (Also using her thinker power she might actually have a chance against Victoria at basketball).

I feel like for this to work, they'd have to meet before May begins stalking Lily and/or if she never started.

Alternatively! If we're being silly: Victoria's endless rizz could pull May away from her Lily stalking and thus save everyone from that whole mess.

If we're being extra silly: Lily can get offended that May stopped going after her because I mean come on. Imagine kidnapping your obsession's gf only to to have your interest pulled away by Victoria of all people.

The beautiful ending of all this would be May becoming a professor post ward. Her classes would either be chill af or the most deranged thing you've ever had to do.

The press gets a picture of blonde Lily where her roots are showing, and the people mock her on PHO. After her next patrol she gets some constructive feedback such as "I think that level of force may have been excessive," and "I know you're having a difficult week, but did you really have to impale all of his limbs," and "we all understand that March is a nuisance, but screaming "I'm going to put this whole arbalest through your face and then feed your corpse to a rabbit!" lacks professionalism, and reflects poorly on the PRT as a whole. Also, rabbits are herbivores."

Poor Lily gets chewed out by the Wards leader, then goes on PHO and sees that March is bullying her on there too now. She gets herself banned within five minutes and decides to never use the internet again
