Okay, okay, I have another Encanto theory, and this one's made me emotional! So, where did the magic (the miracle) come from? Well, a lot of people are saying that it was Pedro. He sacrificed himself and in a sort of Lily Potter situation, the magic manifested to protect his family (and community). But how did the magic manifest? Well, I don't know much about Colombian mythos but I do know about Disney. And when the second flashback shows a much longer scene, we're all focused on Abuela Alma's heartbreaking reaction. And what I had missed the first time I had watched the movie was that seconds before his sacrifice, Pedro gives each family member something that Disney has time and time again established to be magical:
