How do you get your stitching so tight against the fabric??

i make sure the embroidery hoop is holding the fabric tight, that helps the stitches to come out smooth. I mostly use back stitches and satin stitches in my work. This can help you with stitches https://www.thespruce.com/stitches-every-embroiderer-should-know-4122123
