@emmeleung
it was two am and emme was still up. deducing this was a menial task, being that the walls of their neighboring apartments where thin and movement could be heard scampering behind from the wall to the left of acacia as she sat on the barstool of her kitchen counter, tea mug in hand. acacia was not worried about her own lack of sleep, for she was well aware that little would be granted to her after her frustrated outburst at roland’s meeting the day prior. her mind swarmed of potential apologies she wanted to offer people and a murky shame that coiled around her body vowed to never let sleep reach her. she loathed that she had this secret pit of dirty feelings, and loathed it even more when they reared their ugly head.
but, she knew that a sleepy nurse was not a great nurse and thus for the past hour she had sipped around three cups of chamomile tea and decide to let her thought encircle another...happier subject. her thoughts swirled about as preparations were made and costs calculated, realizing how doable her idea was and soon becoming quite determined to enact her plan. well, both determined and rather enthused seeing as she became solidified in her desire and course of actions she raced to her drawers, slapped a bra under the oversized t-shirt she slept in, and left her home in a matter of moments.
she knocked rhythmically on emme’s door. it wasn’t long before the door was swung open and as soon as emme’s image was fully in view, acacia confidently nodded and declared, “i have decided that I am going to adopt a cat.”
