“I…Honestly don’t know how I feel about Mina. On one hand, she seems super duper cool. I reckon she, can like, do a cartwheel or something and I’m a firm believer in the idea that anyone who can do a cartwheel is inherently cool. But, then she was also close to Eric and gosh did I hate Eric so much. He just felt so…So evil. I don’t like hating anything but if I believe in a God who can do good things to bad people I can believe in a devil who can do bad things to good people. He’s just, like, the epitome of everything I don’t like about rich people. Then again, I don’t really know the whole story. But, I just can’t ignore it.”

εжз: What about nature do they find calming? What about nature do they find disagreeable?

Max dislikes most everything about nature. A computer geek and indoorsy, anti-social teen at heart, he spent most of his life in dark rooms on computer chairs, avoiding the great outdoors at all costs. He doesn’t like being dirty or uncomfortable, and that’s how he feels during any extended outdoor jaunts.

On the flip side, he likes the sound of the ocean. When he was at Berkeley, he had an apartment by the water, and woke up to the sounds of the ocean every morning, and fell asleep to the same sounds at night. He has a deep fondness for the lapping of waves, because it’s associated so deeply with the happiest, easiest time of his life.

✏: What are their creative outlets?

Coding is his main outlet. It’s a puzzle and an art form — math and poetry in motion, hand in hand, to create something great. He has a million projects on the go at any given time, though he dabbles in app-building and game creation for fun and relaxation. Constructing something both beautiful and functional is incredibly satisfying for Max.
