Bio.
like most things austin does, he showed up to his own birthday nearly three weeks early: an omen of things to come.
he was an active kid, so his parents, already dealing with two older children, put him into pretty much every sport possible: baseball, football, and basketball.
by high school, he'd narrowed that down to baseball and football. he had offers from a number of schools for both, but ultimately decided to stay close to home and attended the university of cincinatti on full scholarship
austin was drafted by his hometown bengals the third round and played his first eight seasons with the team, setting several records in the process including: most pass yards gained by a tight end in a season, most touchdowns in a season, and climbed into 2nd place all time in the bengals' list of tight end touchdowns
he was in the middle of a contract year when the unthinkable happened. during a playoff game, he caught a long pass from his quarterback like it was nothing and broke to his left for yards after the catch...and then he felt it. his knee buckled. a non-contact injury. before he'd even gotten the mri, he knew he'd torn something.
he ended up tearing his acl, requiring surgery and a lot of physical therapy to make it back onto the field. after 8 long months, he did so, posting a personal best in yards.
and the bengals subsequently traded him at that year's trade deadline. he was sent packing to the texans for picks and a wide receiver.
instead of letting that weigh him down, though, austin put in the work with his new team: he trained well, put in extra time at practice, and got involved in the community. he found that he loved texas -there was so much to do!- and he played some of his best football after the trade.
austin's career was not without its scandals, though: in his early years, he was known as a partier. he's been in the tabloids for everything from a pregnancy scare with his ex (true) to steroid use (not true).
he suffered a career ending injury only two years after the trade. his knee got torn up again and this time, he wasn't able to rehab back to play the game he loved.
the first year or two after that was tough. he fell into bad habits, staying out too late, getting into things he shouldn't, and leaving a string of exes in his wake. tmz loved him during this period.
his college coach was his savior. before he did something stupid enough to ruin his life, that coach took a job with the ut longhorns and tapped austin to help coach receivers. he's been with the university ever since, now standing just behind the head coach as offensive coordinator and loving every minute of it.

former teammates/UT employees! would love a bromance or two with another former football player, but i also like the idea of austin being friends with the social media manager, photographer, trainer, etc.
exes: i'd love the ex-gf who was pregnant . up to you what happened there: did she actually get pregnant, was it just a scare? we can talk about it! he's also been involved with a string of lovers so i'd love some who are still friends with him, some who dislike him, some who recently moved from ohio...the possibilities are endless!

younger sibling/found family vibes: would love to have something/someone who austin has kind of...taken under his wing. he's the youngest in his family but i could see him being an older sibling vibe. he might be a bad influence sometimes but he's loyal t a fault!
former roommates! he makes enough money that i think he lives on his own now, but when austin first moved, i could see him just like renting with some randoms he found on craigslist. they'd probably still be close. think the gang from new girl. i want those friends for austin.
