jayclimbs
jayce had originally been dying of boredom at the dance, but now he had something to look forward to. of course he wouldn’t have the heart to tell her who he really was. his cheeks reddened a bit as she took his arm, leading him off to the dance floor. “ or not at all… ” he replied, honestly. he had never even been to a grade school dance before. he thought they were all too stuck-up. once they were on the floor, jayce looked around the room nervously, before finding the courage to look his partner in the face again. “ i-uh… i don’t know what i’m supposed to do right now, and honestly i’m freaking out. “
anastasia assumed the other was joking, and laughed as she led the other through the camper-ridden dance floor, careful not to step on anyone’s feet. when she was pleased with the spot, she turned around to find the male looking...well, like he wasn’t lying about the freaking out, and ana raised an eyebrow as she held back another laugh. ‘ oh, boy. you weren’t kidding,’ she stated, trying to keep her tone as free of judgement as possible. ‘ it’s okay, i’ll show you. here,’ she gently took one of his hands in hers and placed it on her waist as she stepped closer, her own arms coiling around his neck. ‘ and then you just...sway. ’ a quick glance was enough for anastasia to realize that the only other people slow dancing to one of the ridiculous songs being played by the dj were prepubescent campers, but it was the easiest thing she could come up with.
