“ PERFECT, THIS’LL WORK SMOOTHLY WITH you cheering, ” he said, grinning. truth be told, it was probably more of a stealth ( after hours ) mission, but cheers when it all was done would be the perfect motivation he needed to get it done at the time. honestly, just promise that bentley backed him and would be there was all the motivation he needed. it probably was a little silly, considering all he was doing was re-setting games and offering discounts in a huge blow out, but still, the fact bentley was cheering in his court was egging him on. if this hypothetical situation where han sought revenge would come to pass, he’d know he’d carry it out.
working through the sudden awkward, rich smiled up at the stars and focused on finding the constellations he knew to point some out to maybe keep talking, but thankfully bentley changed the subject before that started. “ oh god, honestly thank you, noted. how did rhi take it? ” she’d been really excited for it he remembered. and he remembered her exact thinking was “ragnarok was good, murder on the orient express was good, star wars has to round out the trilogy of goodness” and now he was starting to doubt it did in her opinion. “ though, if i’m being honest with you, i haven’t watched one all the way through since the phantom menace. so my condolences to you for having to go. ”
lips curving upwards into a grin, he nods his head. it gives him a good feeling. although it’s all over something so simple, that really seems to be tradition, at least for bentley. he’s been known to blow things into bigger proportion than necessarily needed. some would call that dramatic, but he doesn’t mean for it to be. all he can say is that he’s relieved rich doesn’t think so. the idea of it all; han’s revenge, rich resetting all of the machines and booming business, it’s all still just a thought. but that doesn’t mean bentley isn’t already looking forward to it. “good. we’ll get a glimpse into his competition with the air hockey, too.”
he inhales, then gives a chuckle. mostly to fill the silence. the film disappointed rhi, which is unfortunate, especially because of how much she’d been looking forward to it. parts of it also seemed to be close to home. he could pick up on that. friends of bentley’s are well informed of what he thinks of the sequels, so the difference was that he expected to come out disappointed. he shakes his head. “we went back home to watch somethin’ good after; that new thor one that she likes. she didn’t seem amazed, which, y’know, kinda sucks. considering how excited she’d been,” he explains, glancing back inside. “see, that’s the thing, they should’a just left the trilogy as it was... i’d rather watch a prequel— i’d rather the phantom menace, than one’a these new ones.”
