- HERE’S WHAT YOU MISSED.
after graduating from riverbank, cora immediately packed her bags and moved across states to new york. it had been her dream from day one and nothing had managed to put a dent in that determination.
it helped that her rekindled relationship with cam meant she had her very own native guide when she arrived to stake her claim in the big apple. though she sticks out like a sore thumb, she likes to think of herself as a new yorker after living in the city for a few years. even if she does still get turned around on the subway and often has to work her way through every lockwood in her phonebook until someone is free to help find her.
ria has threatened to issue a restraining order if she calls her one more time.
she no longer hides her career from those near and dear to her, despite moving on to burlesque shows, cora is still a regular attendee at her local pole fitness classes. she’s very passionate about sex worker rights and has recently been channeling any pent-up rage into protests. and her kickboxing classes. basically, she’s barely ever in the apartment and likes to keep herself in a whirlwind of busyness.
her and cam have finally made it to a good place and she’s been showing him the joys of filter coffee, coupons, and the discount food aisle. they’ve found a happy rhythm and cora is his top cheerleader. in fact, she gave him a number one assistant mug that she made herself. it leaks, and her pottery hobby ended there.
despite not landing any major roles yet, she’s appeared in the chorus for a few shows, most recently in moulin rouge where her skillset came in particularly handy. she’s still gunning for christine in the phantom of the opera, but that’s a long way off yet.
although, she does have an audition for mamma mia that may be heading in a positive direction... only time will tell.
cora is living her best life. she’s with her bestest friends in a city just similar enough to home that she feels welcome but also just different enough that it feels like the fresh start she’s been looking for.
speaking of home, her relations with her family have gone silent. she has no real contact with her parents, charles and cressida. whilst a part of her still aches for that old life, she’s matured a lot in the last few years and has made her peace with the fact that some things you just have to let go. besides, she’s realised that she’s had a family all of her own the entire time. one she found all by herself and doesn’t intend on letting go. making her slightly unbearable during any group arguments.
gone are the days of uncertainty and doubt, cora has grown into her confidence and is more carefree than ever. in fact, some might say she could do with a dose of caution. there are a few lingering ghosts from her past but all in all, she’s sure that if she has her friends and cameron she can make it through whatever life throws at her.
