Why do people keep kidnapping you and holding you hostage? Regina, Rumple, your own father - who next?
Believe me, I wish I knew. I must simply have a face that says "please kidnap me, I have nothing better to occupy my time".
If anyone has any tips to prevent it from happening, again, I'd love to hear them.
Who was that who freed you from your cell?
I wish I knew. I've never seen him before but I hope to see him again. I'd like to thank him. Who knows what would have happened had I remained locked in that room.
After all, I doubt that Regina would have suddenly decided to free me just because everyone's memories are back.
I suppose I can ask Rumple once things settle back down. If anyone knows who he is, it's Rumple.

What was it like being outside for the first time in 28 years?
I- That's something that I can barely put into words. I'm more than relieved to be putting my days of being locked in a cell behind me.
I think this is going to be a good thing for all of us.

She noticed the shift in his demeanor as those words left her. That subtle nervousness that sometimes came to the surface made itself known. Giving his hands a gentle squeeze, she gave him an encouraging smile. She wanted him to take his time, he had no reason to rush through voicing his feelings. It was a big topic that they were discussing. One that they had been dancing around more often as of recent.
As he finally voiced his confession, she felt as if her heart were going to burst. She hadn’t expected such a straightforward answer but she was far from complaining. A bright smile crossed her features as the elation seeped into her emotions. She had to take a moment to collect her thoughts enough to respond. “You don’t have to, you know.” If they were going to forgo the push and pull of bouncing from one inferred meaning to the next, she might as well speak plainly. “I couldn’t think of a better future than one by your side, Robert.”
Calm and poise, that was Belle. She was trying to help him remain calm too, and he appreciated that. Even as he trembled, even as his heart raced, he truly felt safe with her. Enough to say what he felt, even with the fear rippling under the surface. He didn’t think he could handle if his heart broke again, especially with how deeply he loved her.
Her answer told him all he needed to know; that she wanted that too. That she saw a future with him. His entire face brightened, his posture straightening and he was squeezing her hands gently. “Then I– I’m going to get you a ring, I swear to you. I know I’m doing this terribly backwards, with that to come but,” the words were spilling out now, the excitement palpable. “Belle, you truly would make the happiest man alive if you were to say yes to allowing me the great honour of marrying you.”
It was said, it was done. He’d asked her and he truly felt in this moment that she and he were meant to spend their lives together.
She couldn't stop the small laugh as he mentioned the order at which they were going. "I'd be content without one." She responded trying to clear any worry before it formed. She could care less about having a ring. It was him that mattered in this, not some flashy piece of jewelry.
She'd never been extremely interested marriage, especially the matches her father had tried to make. After seeing how many marriages were more like business deals rather than being partnerships, she'd all but dismissed the notion. Remarking that she'd marry when and if her heart dictates and only then. After that she'd placed her focuses elsewhere, much to her father's dismay. Then she met Robert and suddenly marriage didn't sound like some polite way of someone selling their daughter off to acquire a higher social status. Because with him it had nothing to do with who they were in society.
As the question was finally posed to her, she pulled one of her hands from his and gently brought it to cup the side of his face. "I'd love, more than anything, to marry you." She wore a bright smile as she spoke. She sworn to follow her heart and it had been apparent for a long time now, that her heart lay with Robert.
It has been days since Robert left her estate and it was clear he wasn’t going to come back to her. The reality and the pain of not being with the man she loved ignited a hatred for the woman that won him over. She made sure to glance in the woman’s way often whenever she had to go into town or balls. She had to learn exactly who this woman was and what her hobbies were, and she was amused by the fact that they were so similar. It gave Cora the impression that Robert missed her rebellious nature for in her youth, she never cared what was expected of her.
She was outspoken, did what she wanted, and never allowed people to hold her back just because of her gender either. Belle seemed similar with her independent nature. It’s quite obvious Robert misses me. Such a thought was a lie for Cora didn’t know– didn’t want to hear the truth that Robert loved Belle for other reasons entirely and has moved on like he had said in her estate days ago. The woman couldn’t admit that chasing after a man who didn’t want her was foolish. If Robert wouldn’t come back to her and start over, Cora was hell-bent on making Belle’s life miserable as a result.
“Hello, Belle.” She finally caught Belle alone in town and was determined to make the most of it. “How are you, dear?”

She'd heard whispers, rumors, around town of who the newest arrival in town was. Despite her avoidance of such things, to navigate the social circles she did was to hear the latest drama inducing stories. As soon as the mention of why she should be "concerned" She'd dismissed the conversation entirely. The past was the past and anything concerning Robert was his own business. If he felt the need to inform her of his past flames then he would.
It was meant to be a simple run into town. However, that quickly became apparent that her trip was most definitely not going to go according to plan. Though, she hesitated in drawing her conclusions as to why the woman was approaching her. Hasty assumptions were something she'd rather not make. Offering a polite smile, she responded. "I certainly can't complain, it's a nice day to be out. You're Cora, correct? I do hope you're settling back in well?"

All her life, she’d fought to make her family proud and do what was expected of her and more. With Robert … she was able to just exist with him. He encouraged and supported her with few questions asked. He was a rarity and she cherished every moment with him.
His inquiry brought a curious glimmer to her eyes. “To the right person? It nearly isn’t a question. Having someone who truly sees me for me want to spend the rest of their life alongside me, just as I them? I’d seem quite the fool to decline.” She responded, locking eyes with him. “What about you?” She smiled at him, a knowing look on her features. “Is betrothal something that you’d ever consider?”
His heart began to flutter, his pulse raced and he was sure his cheeks started to flush. She seemed more than receptive to the idea, something he was aching to hear. Yet he was so afraid of that tiny part of her that could easily say no and shatter him like Cora had before. Fear was powerful, fear was consuming.
Opening his mouth to answer, lips trembling, Robert met her gaze and caught his breath. “I-I,” he began, shaking breath escaping his lips. “I think about it often,” he confessed finally, struggling to keep meeting her eyes. He forced himself to though, even as his thumbs stilled and held on to her hands. “I cannot imagine a day of my future without you.”

His faith in her skills had her giving him a grin. “Well, let’s hope the chance doesn’t arise that I have to.” She gave him a cheeky wink. “But yes, I think you’ll be quite safe with me.”
As he moved closer, she tilted her head to look up at him. His admission causing her grin to shift into a soft smile. “No doubt something to do with yet another proposition to merge land or companies.” She mused, wracking her brain to possibly piece together the reason for her father’s summons. Though, she did have the week to figure it out. “I just hope it isn’t like the Gaston incident.” She gave him a knowing look. She had a feeling that neither of them wanted to deal with that mess once more.
Her wink made his knees feel weak, his grin turned goofy. “Never any doubt,” he smiled, his own head tilting a little in kind as hers did. He found himself mirroring her, desperate to close the gap and soundly kiss her lips, yet aware now wasn’t the moment. No, not as they discussed her Father and the possibilities that lay ahead.
Humming briefly, his thumbs gently stroking over the backs of her hands, Robert nodded in understanding. “Yes, as do I.” A pause and he was looking down then at their hands, feeling a little more vulnerable. Affairs of the heart were both enthralling and terrifying to him, never quite sure which foot he was to find himself on. “Do–do you ever have ideas of such things?” he began, his thumbs not stilling for a moment. “An inclination to be betrothed?”

Her extending the offer to him wasn’t a terribly new idea. She’d mentioned him joining her before but she’d never outright given him the invitation. Belle knew he like to stay close to home. It was something she found rather endearing about him. Especially considering how he didn’t let that affect his support of her own adventures.
As he held his hands out towards her, she placed hers in his. A smile crossed her face as he accepted the invitation. “Your presence will only serve to make it more enjoyable, Robert.” There was a brief streak of nervousness at the idea of her father meeting him but it was quickly stomped away. The idea of having him by her side seemed able to quell any anxieties she may have. Giving his hands a small squeeze, she says softly, “something tells me I could face anything if I had you by my side.”
His smile remained wide and, though he knew he would have to discuss matters with Jefferson, he was sure that his friend would encourage his joining Belle on said adventure. “I’m sure you’ll keep me safe,” he chuckled low, though it was entirely serious when he did.
Squeezing back softly, Robert stepped in closer as he gazed at her. There was never anything but adoration for her in his eyes. He was absolutely smitten. “As I could with you.” A pause. “So. What do you think he has in mind? Any hints sent your way?”

Taking a moment to set the book aside, Belle let out a sigh. “That, is a good question. One that I, myself, am having quite the issue answering.” She more than appreciated Robert’s openness to her more ‘unladylike’ hobbies. He made her immensely happy, something she’d never felt so strong in any previous attempts at courting. “I had hoped to leave on a small trip by the end of the month.” She paused, glancing over at Robert. “A trip that I was going to extend to you as well. However, it may need to be postponed. According to my father, ‘something has come up that requires your attention. If you want to make play at being heir, then prove your worth.’” She quotes, mimicking her father with an unamused look on her face.
The end of the month was both so far away and yet so close. He missed her immensely whenever she went on one of her trips, but he also would never do anything but encourage her to take them. They made Belle happy and ultimately that was what mattered most to him. Still, his eyes lit up as she continued willing to invite him along.
He didn’t think himself the adventure type, not sure he was brave enough to face the mysteries. Yet he would like to have that time with her. His chest began to puff with said excitement, only relaxing when he let out a breathy laugh. “Belle,” he began, extending his hands out in an effort to take hold of hers. “I would be honoured to join you, if you don’t think I’ll make them less exciting somehow.” A pause. “I’d also be more than happy to be by your side as you face whatever it is your Father has in mind.”

Smiling widely towards her, Robert could never get enough of seeing her smile. It was so beautiful. Warm and loving, bright and gentle. When it lit up her eyes too, oh he was in heaven right here on Earth.
“That I don’t doubt,” he chuckled softly. Belle was an unusual woman, in all the most brilliant of ways. Yes, he worried for her safety when she adventured as she did but it made her happy. Which made him happy.
