allow me to explain. in his first episode as castiel, misha collins decided to give cas a really deep voice. this acting choice was based on the at the time fact that castiel was only supposed to be in around three episodes. however, fans immediately loved castiel because.. well just look at him. nonetheless, misha collins had to fuck up his vocal cords to play castiel for 12 more years. now you may be wondering what cas' voice has to do with dean's voice. well. the story goes that misha collins walked on set and shot his silly little scene with jensen ackles while doing a deep voice for his silly little short term character. immediately, jensen ackles was baffled and captivated by this acting choice. "Why is this strange man lowering his voice at me?" Jensen 'The World's First Omega' Ackles thought. at that point in time, mr ackles had already been three years deep in deangirlism of the highest degree. from the first scene dean and castiel shared together to the end of the show, dean's voice became deeper and deeper. so it goes.
