Alice: /It had been quite a mixed bag of things happening for Alice lately. There was plenty of good, of course - the number of people who had turned up at her house to help them decorate for Christmas, although overwhelming, had helped counterattack some of the paranoid thoughts she had been unable to shake for quite a while now, as had the conversation with Berlioz that had culminated in a kiss she never could have expected. She had felt like she was floating on air since it had happened and they had officially become a thing, even if that slightly awkward moment when she walked in on Thomas and Marie had lowered the tone for her a little, simply due to not knowing what to make of actually seeing it and knowing it was a real thing. Things had been up and down since then, her emotions all over the place due to a lack of sleep, nightmares and an unsettling sense of paranoia, but she was determined to push those away today and enjoy herself, and what better way to do that than to go and find Hatter's company? The snow was still several feet deep so it was quite a trek to his house, but she didn't mind in the slightest - humming under her breath and contemplating Christmas presents helped keep her mind off of anything negative she might be feeling, as did having to keep an eye on where she stepped - several times, she went to put her foot on what she had assumed was hard packed snow and almost fallen on her face as it sank easily into the mush. Still, she was here now, and she was definitely going to enjoy herself. Checking her mittens to ensure they wouldn't slip off on her, she stopped outside Hatter's front door and began to assemble a small pile of snowballs, squishing each one into as perfect a shape she could get. Once she had quite a sizeable mound and was satisfied with her handiwork, she looked up at his windows, a mischievous grin on her face as she picked a few up and began launching them at his windows, shouting over the thuds they made in an attempt to get his attention./ Rise and shine, Hatter! We're going to have a snow day! Get out here at once you mad man! /Unable to resist, she began to imitate Marie, picking up a few more snowballs to throw./ It's rude to keep a lady waiting, you know!
Hatter: /Hatter had been sleeping well lately, and had only rarely and very mildly felt like he was trapped, or suffocating, or alone, or hated, or like he should rip open his wrists with his teeth, which was good seeing as he had no way to leave the house these past weeks as his psychiatrist had suggested he do whenever these sorts of feelings overwhelmed him. He supposed it also came as a relief to her that he not only showed up in high spirits for his appointment the day before, but that he had showed up at all, as he was prone to missing them even at his most lucid. Of course, he was still hallucinating, and the dreams he described were vivid and violently garish, but apart from that and the other mental instabilities which no amount of therapy or medicine could cure, Hatter seemed to be at his best in a long time. She supposed she owed his happiness to the sudden reappearance of his dear friend Alice Liddell (whom she had confirmed did in fact exist) who now worked at the hat shop with him. He talked extensively about Alice at nearly every session. When he got over excited about something, she found that suggesting he talk about her calmed him down quite a bit, so when Hatter expressed the desire to visit her now the snowstorm had cleared, his therapist happily agreed with him... She hadn't realized of course that he meant right away, nor did she realize that he wasn't exactly sure which house Alice lived in, but had only narrowed it down to a few different places, and would burst into each house yelling for her until he happened upon the correct one. He had a nice time with her, but wished it could have lasted longer, for their meeting had been very brief - seconds, really. He was therefore overjoyed when he woke the next morning and discovered as he poked his head out the window that the snowballs being thrown against the glass were provided by Alice./ ALICE! It's you! Eighteen seconds fast and I'll be right on time! /He slammed the window shut and grabbed a pair of trousers, socks, boots, a shirt, gloves, scarf, coat, and his father's favorite top hat. He dressed as he ran from the bedroom and down the stairs, not even stopping to put a kettle on before he flung open the front door and grabbed Alice in a tight hug. He spoke into her shoulder, his face buried in the warmth of her scarf./ I wanted to see you yesterday! I did see you yesterday, but I suppose if I'd gotten it right on the first try, I'd have seen you for much more yesterday! Truthifically, I'd rather see you today and tomorrow, because tomorrows are almost always nearly todays at some point, and nows and laters are more besterful than thens, although I'd also rather beeeee than seeeee, so today is certifubously the perdealical of any day that's been!
