“I never said they were special, obviously they’re just cheap versions of the real thing but...nevermind. Obviously, you’re not gonna get it. That’s fine.”
“Gran?” Her thick scottish accent rang out, clear as a bell. Curiously, Merida peeked out from behind another rack of costumes. “Yur’ Gran was a woodcarv”– The redhead’s bright blue orbs widened, button nose turning up as she worked her face to correct her speech. “A Witch, I mean.”
“I mean, not was. She still is one!” Sophie decided not to question her friend seemingly leaning more towards saying ‘woodcarver’, maybe it was just something from her own world that made more sense. “And so is my sister. My mom is as well.And my brother’s a warlock!” She chirped, smiling. “I miss them.”
❝Those are awful❞ She muttered looking at those costume that the brunette was looking at. Actually she liked halloween but those outfits, well, it wasn’t really a big thing, she didn’t like it ❝Your grandma likes to wear costumes like this on Halloween?❞
Sophie glanced at the costume again, realizing that she probably shouldn’t speak aloud like that. “Uh, sure. We’ll go with that.”

“I know, right? And since you seem to know a lot about accuracy - what about this one here?” Bethany asked after picking another costume out and holding it up. She had decided to dress up as a sorceress just for the fun of it.
“I like it, it looks really cool. My grandma would definitely approve.”
Tate wasn’t really one for Halloween. What he was and the costumes that represented it were a little offensive in his eyes. “Not surprising how inaccurate most are.” He let out a quiet sigh, eyeing the costumes as he shrugged. “Do I look like a white sheet to you?”
“Of course not....why would you ask me that?” It took a second before the girl registered the question in her mind. “Are you trying to say you’re like a ghost? I thought ghosts were supposed to be transparent. That’s how they are where I’m from.”
“Accurate? Right, because I walk around with a pointy hat and broomstick.” She scoffed, rolling her eyes at a witches costume that caught her eye. “There’s more to us witches than that stereotype bullshit you get fed.”
“What are you talking about? I don’t know what it’s like where you’re from, but that’s exactly how witches dress where i’m from.”
Halloweentown (1998)
sophie had been wandering around a halloween store, somewhat in awe at the accuracy of some of the costumes. “it’s surprising how accurate some of these costumes actually are.” she laughed, as she looked over a witch costume. “this looks like something grandma would wear..”
shock woke up in a cold sweat, she had no idea where she was or how she got there but suddenly it was like the voices in her head were put on blast. she clutched her head and closed her eyes, feeling hot tears stream down her face. she let out a gasp as her head snapped up at the sound of someone near her; not knowing how or why she had it, shock pulled out a small gun and pointed it at the person, “stop…right there. are you real?” she couldn’t tell her nightmares from reality, “if you’re real then prove it.”
sophie was just trying to be helpful, she had found the young woman passed out on the floor. she never expected to find a gun pointed at her once she entered the room, she raised her palms quickly taking a step back. “of course i’m real! why wouldn’t i be!?” she exclaimed, somewhat terrified. “how can i prove it if you’re pointing a gun at me?”
“Well… you know…. would you believe me if I say that I slipped and fell into the water accidentally? Maybe?”
“I can believe it, but i don’t know if I want to. Doesn’t it make you seem like a fun person if you say that you just jumped in? Like, spontaneously?”
“ i spent one point five seconds on that !! it was a masterpiece !! “
“how is that even possible?....unless you’re a-” a light laugh left the young witch’s mouth, before she gasped and spoke in a hushed tone. “did you use some sort of time spell?”
joel looked down at the bottle of jack daniel’s in his hand; he usually didn’t drink this much, mostly when he went out to eat but even then it was one glass at the most. he sighed, becoming aware of the footsteps approaching him, “they say drinking never solves anything but just for a second, everything seems all good, you know?” he looked up at the figure, “care to join me?”
“for a drink? no. but i can sit with you! maybe you can....talk about whatever’s bothering you. i’ve been told i’m an excellent listener.”
being back in new york was a bit of a shock but a shock that didn’t really cause him to think so much, not like he would have if this had been the FIRST time. as he walked the street, his felt his forehead burn and he knew that it wouldn’t be long before his head began to start POUNDING. he made a sharp turn with a sharp exhale, his blue eyes looked around the room before closing his eyes with an sigh of relief. even if the sun didn’t kill it, it wasn’t pleasant for the most part. he was thankful that it was slowly becoming winter, so the sun wouldn’t BURN so bright. he could feel a pair of eyes on him which caused his body to go rigid, his head turned away to find the eyes that starred into him. ❛ oh, uh sorry. light headed. BAD food, maybe? ❜
katara had been in the city for the while, as well as the different time period and world, and she had learned a lot. like, the kinds of medicine that they had used and she found they were much more effective than what they had back where she was from. so upon seeing the the male walk away, she followed after him. “oh. i thought maybe it was- nevermind.” she waved it off. “sorry, sorry. i was just gonna offer you some....medicine. but i realize that i don’t know a lot about the medication here. probably wouldn’t have helped.”

she found herself standing under a building, her eyes just aimlessly watching the cars speed by only to get stuck in a traffic jam. it was too busy, this was nothing like she was use to. then again that’s ALL she lived off of ( old memories ). it was just as depressing as it SOUNDS. taking in a deep breathe, she turned her head just enough to allow her blonde waves to move over her shoulders with a grunt. she could feel someone’s presence but she didn’t care enough to turn to look at them. because she figured that they would speak up if they wanted her attention.
“excuse me?” katara spoke up, approaching the young woman who appeared to be watching the....whatever they were. “uh, what are those?” she questioned, gesturing to the moving things on the street. “i’ve never seen them before, it’s odd.”
