will literally cannot sleep without a weight on top of him. his guess is that mike, after his disappearance, spent so many sleepovers laying on top of will’s chest that he just got used to the comfort of his weight, and can’t sleep without it now. now, during the 18 month time skip, when will is having an even harder time sleeping than usual. he normally piles blankets on top of himself, but the wheelers didn’t really give him enough to satisfy that ache in his chest. so he, very sheepishly, drags himself up to mike’s room, all his 3 blankets in his hands, and says in a very small, sleepy voice, “can you lie on top of me?” he feels like when he was 5 and he used to go to his parents’ rooms when he had a nightmare. mike grumbles something incoherent, but lifts the corner of his blanket for will to roll under. he sets the blankets on top of them, and mike, almost by instinct (despite not having slept together like this for almost 5 years), rolls his body onto mike. he’s much heavier now, and will sleeps like a goddamn baby.
